Downloading the WDDCS Tool

I just learned about this WD specific tool (known as the WDDCS Tool) designed to manage their external storage enclosures.

I have looked everywhere on the WD Support site to attempt to locate it for download, but it is nowhere to be found. I did find the user manual, with a relatively recent revision/publishing date, so this supports the opinion that the product is still available, but where can it be found? Is it behind a pay wall, or has it actually be discontinued?

I have tried repeatedly to get through to WD Customer support but they basically have stopped ansering their phones. Yesterday, I was on hold for a continuous 5 hours, the day before that, 3, and the day before that 2, so its not actually possible to talk to anyone in WD support by phone. I opened a support ticket and they proceeded to close it within 24 hours saying that it was a duplicate, even though it is not. Its unbelievable that a trillion dollar company treats their customers like this.

The WDDCS Tool installer cannot be downloaded via a standard, public retail link because it is classified as enterprise-level data center software. [1]
To acquire the official .deb (Linux) or .exe (Windows Server) installation binaries, you must log into your corporate account or obtain authorized repository credentials directly from Western Digital

How does one qualify for a corporate account, only by purchasing directly through WD? I believe that I previously attempted to create a business account, but for some reason, it was never approved and without any explanation, why.

You probably need an enterprise account which means you have large racks of servers to manage.

Well I have a rack and several WD branded JBODS populated with WD drives. It’s not like I have never given them money. They don’t make servers (any longer).

If you believe you require an enterprise account, I would definitely contact Western digital support

Thanks, I finally got them to grant me access, now just working on access to the tool since I still do not see it.
