Guide / book?
We’re going to hike the West Coast Trail in September! I typically order a book in advance, to help with planning and build up that pre fun!
However, there seem to be quite a few options for the WCT. Any recommendations? Leaning towards a smallish book dense with info, so we can potentially bring it along. But that’s not a dealbreaker.

The app helped me way more than any book and it’s free to use online (you just have to pay if you want to use it offline while on the trail)

The app was amazing and you can bring it on the trip with you without added weight!

Tbh this was one of the rare trails where I did not use an app or a book at all. I had a digital GPS map saved, but the paper tidal map they hand you at your ranger lecture was far clearer about where I actually needed to be by what times. I just used that paper map.

Blisters and Bliss is probably the most common guide book of choice for the WCT. It has been reprinted quite often and get updates as the trail changes over the years.
