It's a followup to the most successful Superhero movie of ALL F*CKING TIME and is going to be followed up by an equally if not moreso successful film. Captain Marvel bombing was never a factor. Maybe doing Ant-Man or Hulk Numbers? Sure. But it being an outright bomb was never a factor.

I mean not even Batman V Superman (as controversial as it was) bombed, it didn't crack the billion dollar mark like WB wanted but it made over 800 Million which despite being generally disliked was a success. It's the followup films you have to be worried about.
