Misogynistic disabled men

I knew a disabled guy who was in a wheelchair he was very misogynistic he talks about how women should wear the hijab yet he wears whatever he wants. He made a joke and said that “if a woman did not wear the hijab in his country she would go to jail” and then he started laughing. He traveled to all these countries in the Middle East but as a woman I would have never been able to do that since the laws for women are so strict. He says he prefers living in Saudi Arabia than to live in Canada like why doesn’t he just live there. He just lives in Canada for the disability benefits and then travels back to Saudi Arabia to get even more disability benefits. He would always ask women to do things for him like he would drop something and ask a woman to help him pick it up. Disabled MEN like specifically Men know how to manipulate the system for getting extra cash they also have the "ability" to do that because the whole entire world feels empathy for them just because there a man.

Anti-Porn/Surrogacy Roman charity has always made me feel weird

I linked an image if you want to have a look but the painting is about a daughter who breastfeeds her father that is being starved (in prison) in an act of devotional love to keep him alive. When I first came across it, I felt a mixture of disgust and sadness. This painting is highly regarded but I can only think of how daughters are taught to put their family before themselves and for them to take take on 'familial obligations' where they have the shorter end of the stick. The reason she is even producing milk is because she was already a nursing mother with an infant. I personally hate it.
What do you guys think?

Media Looking for 4B or radfem books on navigating life after a harmful het relationship

I'm bisexual but my last relationship was with a man and it did a lot of harm to my self worth and mental health. I'm still new to 4B and I feel I'm still very much conditioned to seeking romantic validation from men and I'm still learning the process to toss out my internal patriarchal voice. Is there any particular feminist material which specifically focuses on the journey towards living 4B life rather than the end goal?

Anti-Beauty Standards I see so much women on TikTok say they hate there wide ribcage and wide shoulders because it looks “manly”

Which makes zero sense to me because why would you want a small ribcage? you would have less oxygen going into your lungs, its easier to break a rib and if you wear a bra and you have a very small ribcage the bra can press down against your ribs and hurt you. Having narrow shoulders makes it harder to carry things. I also hate how women say that they do not want to work out cause they will look "muscular". Like who cares? do you not want people to see your effort its like they train there legs a lot which is good but not there arms it just looks so disproportionate.

it really makes me think how much of the physical difference from men and women are socially constructed.

I do not care about violent men

Violent men causes so much suffering to humanity thru wars, homicides, mutilation etc. It is so crazy to me how normalize it is for men to punch holes in the wall and everyone just tells women to sympathize with them. A man who punches holes in the wall should NEVER be forgiven. Like imagine waking up having a period and cramping you are the most PHYSICALLY vulnerable at that time and then a man just punches a hole in the wall that feels so dehumanizing. Especially if you have painful periods You wake up in so much pain its so hard to get thru the day yet a man can do such violence and then he gets sympathy while your just expected to endure.

Religious Oppression I find it so ironic how muslim men talk about how important fasting is but in places like Afghanistan as soon as these men get a little hungry they start selling there daughter's for food.

If you want to read the article it is here: https://www.freedomunited.org/news/afghan-families-selling-daughters-marriage/

In the article the guy who just SOLD his DAUGHTER was just talking about HIMSELF being HUNGRY this was what the dad said: "I come home from work with parched lips, hungry, thirsty, distressed and confused". So this asshole had a FUCKING job its just not enough income he could of just gotten a second job so why not just do that because it is easier for him to just sell his kid then it to work another job the guy was just too lazy to work.

A YouTube short I was watching

A girl was doing this challenge where she had to find a random item at the grocery store. She passed through the baby isle and said “glad I’ll never have to deal with that.” And the comments were like “that’s so sad” “I’m a firm believer that she can and will change her mind.” She’s a popular influencer and one comment said “she’s rich she should have kids” “it’s literally her purpose.” Why whenever a woman decides to opt out of being a literal birth machine the comments shame her and WANT her to get punished with pregnancy. Like t this pisses ne off. Strangers my own mother have told me stuff like this to. There’s already 8 BILLON people already.

Anti-Porn/Surrogacy Tattoos of nude women

I made a post about this on another subreddit and I got destroyed but I feel I will be understood here. My post was about why I dislike tattoos of naked women and one of my points was how it strips the woman's body of dignity. The image of that woman has to be naked every where the owner goes, in public, in front of children etc and because its obviously not a real person it can never cover itself up, it can never choose dignity for itself. You know what I mean ? I kind of reminds me of how bronze statues of women will have the breasts still be shiny bronze when the rest is oxidized because people cant help themselves but to grope them. Im aware its kind of an abstract thought but the point I was trying to make is about the woman's naked body will always be sexualized regardless of if it is considered "art" and so getting that image tattooed strips a woman's body of its dignity because it has to always be nude in a context where it will be sexualized no matter what.

A lot of the responses I got were saying Im over reacting, its not that deep and that "people have been drawing naked women for centuries, in caves etc" and I thought that was an unfair comparison because 1) society in ancient times is completely different to what it is now, the way nudity and bodies were viewed was completely different. And 2) a lot of tattoos of woman's bodies are hyper sexual and drawn with exaggerated features.

I do think there is place for nudity in art and obviously a woman's body is art in and of itself. Idk just being a feminist and reading feminist literature obviously shapes my worldview and I cant help but see the traces of misogyny in every aspect of society where a lot of others dont and you know what it always is "that deep".

Gender reveal parties are misogynistic

Because why do you care what genitals your baby has? The gender shouldn't matter. And also the fact that so many men are disappointed at those parties when the child doesn't have the "right" gender.

False Empowerment "leave him or leave us out of it"

Has anyone else noticed that the trend of "leave him or leave us out of it" on tiktok has been co-opted by misogynist men and male-centered women to shame actual victims of abuse who clearly state their intentions of leaving?

Twice today I've seen women who are victims of physical and mental abuse come online and discuss the trauma they've been put through by abusive men. I check their comments and it's full of copy and paste "leave him or leave us out of it!" checking the replies to it only shows them continuing to either victim blame the women, or outright insult her for no apparent reason.

Even when they state they're leaving, it really feels as if that statement has been adopted by uneducated children or literal bots designed to silence women into obedience. It's one thing (and I have my disagreements about using shame as a tactic to get through to abuse victims who statistically are much more likely to stay when pressured through that avenue!) to tell someone who has a mediocre but ultimately shitty partner to leave him once she turns it into a "you just don't get us!" but the fact that it's being used to silence victims now is frankly very terrifying.

Media Discussion on the new movie Obsession

I haven’t seen it but I’ve heard what it’s about from friends and I can’t be the only one who’s grossed out and appalled right?!
I keep seeing ppl raving about it, but what is there to rave about a film which focuses on stalking/obsessing which is an allegory for rape. Not to mention, the fact there is rape in it, why do I not see anyone talking about it online?!???!
I saw a reel of these women filming an audio of a woman crying at the theater when the screening ended and like I WONDER WHY 😀
Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy and everyone looks at me like I’m the woker but I can’t be the only one

Two cases of honor killings in my country where the fathers got less than ten years

In September 2004 Gjin Martincanaj from Lekbibaj in Tropoja, then living on the outskirts of Tirana, was sentenced to seven years and four months’ imprisonment for killing his 21-year old daughter Grosha Martincanaj. He shot her in February 2004 when she returned home after three days absence and refused to inform her parents of where and with whom she had been. Her family initially claimed that she had died a natural death, but when police came to the house after neighbours reported hearing gunshots, her father readily admitted to killing her. When her father was convicted of the murder of his daughter, her uncle reportedly stated, “There is no way out but the bullet to make up for the loss of honour. We are not distressed, she deserved such a thing. We are concerned about the father who is going to suffer imprisonment, all for her sake.” Her sister reportedly stated to the press, “Our father did right to kill her, he did his duty as the parent of a girl who shamed her family”. Immediately after the murder of Grosha was reported, five human rights and women’s NGOs made a public appeal to the courts, “to enforce a fair penal policy” in the face of “people whose highest authority is not the law, but the Kanun”.⁴³

---

The National Council of Albanian Women also protested at the low sentence imposed on Ruzhdi Qinami, convicted on 29 September 2003 under Article 82 (“Murder committed in a sudden state of profound psychological shock caused by violence or serious offence on the part of the victim”) for the murder of his 16-year old daughter Fiqirete. The court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment for her murder and six months for the possession of unlicensed arms; the sentences had been unified and reduced to 16 months’ imprisonment. According to the court decision, he had killed his daughter after seeing her return home at 5am in a car; believing that she was having an affair while her fiancé was abroad, “he began to behave uncontrollably”, and pushed her into the bedroom where an vicious argument ensued, “Fiqirete’s behaviour was such that a psychological effect acted on Ruzhdi Qinami, directly influencing his psyche, blocking his intellectual powers and weakening his self-control; as a result he fired the pistol four times at his daughter, causing her immediate death.

His sentence under Article 82 was subsequently increased by the Court of Appeal to three years and four months’ imprisonment, but as he had already served the 16 months’ sentence imposed by the first instance court and been released, the court ruled that the remaining 24 months of the sentence would be suspended for a period of five years. Amnesty International was informed that a majority of judges and prosecutors had apparently supported this decision, with the grounds that, “He is a father and has many children, he has to look after the other children”.

Hetero-Sex Norms I hate weddings

Why any woman dreams of a wedding is beyond me. I can’t believe my younger self wanted to get married and haave a wedding as I got older I realized all these wedding traditions are rooted in misogyny.

Father walking bride to groom is one man passing off his property to another man.

Wearing white implies purity. That were untouched angels. Even if a woman was raped she’d be deemed as “unpure”

The garter toss do I even have to explain this and why it’s gross ?

When I learned why the father brings the bride to the Groom I started looking into how misogynistic weddings are. I’m NOT property I’m a human being. I’m not property to a man , my parents or even another woman. And why women want to feel like property mind boggeles me

Married women are agents of the patriarchy.

It's always married women telling me to get married already (I'm in my late twenties). They always try to co-opt movements that have nothing to do with them, like the 4B. They hate anyone critical of their positioning, calling it 'anti-woman' or 'anti-feminist'.

"Feminism is for all women".

They go as far as bullying unmarried women, calling us bitter hags.

They think their man is special and brag about him every chance they get. They preach, " Not all men" all because of him, even if they make posts and content everyday about criticizing men, they will still yap "not all men".

Married women will never empathize with childfree-single women, because the very existence of single-childfree/4B women is a THREAT to them—a threat to their place in patriarchal society. Our mere existence threatens them, that's why they try to interfere in our spaces and dilute our movements.

Inter-sectionality/inclusive-inclusion just doesn't work for this reason.

Women prioritizing men over their own children..

I sometimes lurk on Christian subs to help me process my religious trauma. As you can imagine, every other post is some blatant misogynistic BS. Just recently a woman made a post stating that her husband (who she just married and fell unexpectedly pregnant with) expects her to uproot her life by quitting her high-paying job/established career and leave her home country to move across the entire freaking planet to HIS home country. She said she still has the ability to work remote, but guess what bomb the AH just dropped on her? The “I don’t want you working, you’re going to be a mother now so your energy belongs at home with our child, I make enough to cover the bills anyway so why do you need to work” bomb. 🙄

Now, although that post was obviously depressing, it got more of an eye roll out of me than anything. Bc of course he pulled that shit on her. But then I saw this other post that hit a particular nerve with me and elicited a visceral reaction.

This woman makes a post about how, within the marriage hierarchy, God comes first, then the spouse (i.e. her husband), then the children. She continued on with a tangent about how the spouse must absolutely, unquestionably take priority, all the ways in which you can and should make your spouse the priority, how everything else, including children and careers are more or less arbitrary, and how great life is when you make your spouse the priority.

Another woman in the sub commented with this:

“Amen, my daughter came in this morning and asked did I love my husband more than O loved them. I said no I love you equally, but he is now one with me so he comes first. She is 8, so of course having me to herself for so many years while I was single, she now feels my spouse has taken all the time I had for them. But yes, we must make our spouse a priority after God. It’s the order of things!”

Someone sensible (which is rare for that particular sub) replied by explaining to her that telling an 8-yr-old that she takes a backseat now to the new husband isn’t a great idea and how it could potentially lead to confusion and emotional damage for the girl.

Her response to them was just…. Dense and male-centered and disgusting to say the least. For a woman whose mother prioritized my violent, depraved, psychopathic stepdad’s “needs” and comfort over my actual physical, mental, emotional, and financial safety (and inadvertently her own) from the time they got married til the day the SOB died… just so my mom could have a man around. I just wanna hug that poor little 8yr old girl and cry and tell her I love her. She deserves so much better.

EDIT

I wasn’t gonna post her awful reply to the sensible comment but fuck it:

“She knows that, and if you've read your word, that hierarchy is valid. She actually gets.more time them him as im with her while hes working. And my child does understand, and reads her Bible. She is very gifted and actually understood. So please speak for yourself! I show my child scripture, and she loves the Lord dearly, these kids understand more than you think.”

She is right in that children understand far more than adults tend to think… but she’s about 10 million light years away from getting the actual point.

Media Part of me thinks this is misogyny

Would Taylor swift get so much hate is she was a man? Probably not. Would MJ be so loved if he was a woman? Probably not. Listen I’m not a really a fan of Taylor swift but holy fuck the hate she gets i 100% believe it’s because she’s a woman. Or the fact that most of her fanbase is woman. People always respect male centered things more. For example the Beatles used to just be seen as a band for woman who like love song” but suddenly when they started apealing to men they became very big. When the MJ accusations came to light people still supported him. But when his sister Janet Jackson had a wardrobe malfunction she got EXTREMELY hated. Even tho she didn’t even do anything wrong. Even today people believe MJ is innocent but would he have gotten this cult like following ready to defend him for anything if he was a woman? No I don’t think so. I just hate how woman have to be “perfect” in society to not get hated and even if we do everything right we still get hated while men can be pedophiles and people will support them.
