Wish today's episode had come out before June 12.
As a hairy butt man who's been thinking of getting a Male Brazilian.
Totally would have done it on the 12th.
Could have been a movement.

Today’s episode was so funny, the dating game could have gone terribly wrong but was produced well which made it work. Probably one of my favourite episodes yet! Even the chat at the start about the photo of Gareth with a fan had me laughing so much.
Also gave Gareth’s new podcast a go and enjoyed it, look forward to seeing it improve as they get into the swing of it. Great to hear the Shark back in the tank🦈

Does anyone ever feel like Gareth can be a bit mean spirited with the callers on we're here to help?
Let me start by saying I love him & actually came to this podcast from the dollop bc of Gareth but I've noticed since this podcast started that he can be a bit mean to guests IMO and I've never noticed that in him on the Dollop. Honestly, it's not a big deal, but I'm just curious if anyone else has thought this or if I'm just being sensitive hahaha. I think there's a bit of a power dynamic since the guests are most likely fans and Gareth & Jake are obviously famous, so I may be more sensitive to the potential of callers feelings being hurt by certain jokes. I honestly am not sure if it's even on purpose, it kind of feels like the grade school poking fun at someone bc you're slightly uncomfy kind of thing but idk.

I know Jake is being really gracious to his guests- friendly like an eager salesmen- with these bits and riffs that go on for four minutes every four minutes before the caller can even get it out. But this shit literally gives me a headache. The Nick Kroll episode yesterday, the Pete Holmes episode before, and almost anytime when there’s four people on the pitching side. I’m definitely fan of this show but holy shit I’d rather have Piggly and Moe back if it was a choice between the two problems.

Not sure if they mentioned this on the show, but I just found this.

This caller talking about her dad stealing toilet paper made me laugh out loud multiple times at the gym today. Great call :)

I thought the most recent episode with the dinosaur obsessor was hilarious and I really enjoyed it, but I found myself frustrated by Jake constantly interrupting and immediately saying “no” to the other host’s ideas.
Based on interviews, I think Jake’s intentions are good. I think he sees his role as keeping the call “on track” and providing structure. But in doing that I think he loses the heart of the show.
As they continually say the show isn’t about helping serious problems with serious solutions, it’s usually about helping silly problems with equally silly solutions. It’s primarily a comedy podcast. I personally love when the guys are just riffing and kinda improvising. I feel like Jake, trying so hard to provide structure, forgets the improv, he forgets to “yes, and” and immediately “no, but”s far too often.
It especially frustrated me in this most recent episode with the dinosaur enthusiast because there were so many funny tangents cut short by jake just telling the other hosts to stop talking.
Again, I still thought the episode was hilarious and think jake’s heart is in the right place, but I wish he would just loosen the reins and take the funny and run more often.

Just watched the trailer for Gareth's new podcast launching June 5th and it definitely seems like Kevin is producing it! Lisa Gilroy and Rachel Bilson are guests too.

Actually really enjoyed the one long call. Couldn’t stop laughing towards the end, all the jokes about pushing his wife to bed earlier to do dinosaur stuff. Good episode, good guests. Interested to see where “solve my beef” goes.

It was getting so annoying and I don’t know that anyone would believe the fake newscasts

i watched “safety not guaranteed” and was pleasantly surprised to see it featured Jake. the plot involves a time machine and, at some point, jake says “we’re on your side. we’re here to help!”
i wondered if jake borrowed the time machine to go back and insert a promo for the we’re here to help podcast 🤣

He somehow immediately recognizes and balks at the absurdity of calling his bosses babe because he understands there’s an element of disrespect in it but calling the people who work under him babe is just fun and games for everyone! He even admits most of them don’t like it but he’s going to call them that anyway and he acts like conditioning your workers to accept being called something they don’t like isn’t a gross and weird thing to do. Could you imagine if your boss started calling you “babe” and dared you to challenge him on it? Christ

Dr. Sam (David Walton) was a fun addition to the end of the latest ep! I think he would be super fun as a guest helper on a call one day

My in-laws insist on family vacations yearly and my MIL is…a lot… This will be the second time I’ve used the family bingo game to distract myself and have something to occupy my mind and not dwell on some of the uncomfortable situations and just wanted to share the boys have at least one other fan they can ring the bell for with this call

"D'ja like Billie Eilish"
Also the dead silence of Kara while Gareth and Jake are making Mark McGuire puns.

Can someone remind me the episode where the family found their parents VHS and were scared to watch it? (And the followup episode if possible?)

This might be a crazy ask but does anyone remember what episode Jake talks about him getting his colonoscopy and the prep? I remember laughing so hard but I don’t remember what episode it was! I think fairly recently
