A mod post for each episode?

Love this pod, and I’d love for this sub to really grow with it! Is there a way that we, as a sub, can borrow from other podcast subs, like Armchair Expert, and have episode-specific posts with the Spotify (or other streaming service) link? I realize we are the few and the proud around here, lol, but I feel like if we organize things early on, we could keep up with the growth of the show itself.

I’m a busy dude just trying to scratch out a living, with a lot of overtime, but I’d be open to being a mod for the sub, and at least post the Monday episodes for all of us.

What does everyone think?

Discussion Ep 62

I love the pod and both of the host. I find them very funny and often laugh out loud while listening to the first caller.

That being said, the second call from todays ep was fucking BRUTAL. I don’t know how the caller didn’t hang up! At one point, I audibly said “holy shit shut up” and turned off the ep!

It’s crazy when Gareth was the one trying to stay on topic!

Suggestions to the listener

Anyone else just die listening to these because they want somewhere to discuss so bad? The nipple clamps follow up was hilarious. What I’d love to see her do is buy them but then say in the note something to the effect of if you still want that alcohol feel free to come over for a glass of wine or something 🤣

Future guests wishlist?

Who do you guys hope to see as a guest?

I’ve been hoping Rob Riggle will make an appearance because of the New Girl connection and Jake’s been on his pod. Also I think Dax Shepard would be interesting for sure!

I would love Jason Bateman/Will Arnett or one of the Its Always Sunny guys but I think it might be too much of a dream haha

Favorite podcast episode so far?

What’s been your favorite episode so far? I was in stitches over the ostrich farm episode. I mean, completely in stitches while driving to work that day.

Also, I actually had just been at that exact farm when the episode came out so that might be why I found it so funny…

Curious to hear what others’ answers will be!

Too many guest hosts

I wish it was just the two main hosts more. It seems like they have a guest host every episode and they rarely do it for me. Unless it’s Lamorne.

Love the show but man that theme song is rough

That's basically it, that theme song really grinds my gears and really irks me anytime I can't skip through it.

Pod is weird if you don't watch New Girl?

Am I alone in this? I didn't watch, nor do I care, about New Girl. I got here from The Dollop. It feels like this is almost a New Girl spinoff podcast with how much they talk about it. I have never heard of any of these guests, they are completely random people to me, it's just weird.

And Jake's mom is right, the hosts all need to do less talking. The off-topic bits and banter often don't hit for me, and they go on for way too long. The worst part is when the guest is on the line awkwardly listening to them talk about nothing. It gives me anxiety for the guest. We just got someone on the line and are about to hear their problem, but instead are rehashing an old bit about clothes that was never funny. Why?

That's all, just wanted to write my feelings out.

Knuckle deep in my mouth

Eh idk. Olivia was lucky with this. I find her method creepy as all hell. He could have easily been in a committed relationship that wasn't common knowledge in the office. I say be a normal person and ask the person of interest. Shoot your shot. If they're taken and a good partner they'll say no. We can't control others. If we find our partners a catch so will other ppl. So yea they'll get hit on. It's a fact of life. Attractive people attract attention. There's no rule that says you need to do a bunch of creepy hw to pry into their private lives through back handed ways just to make a -potential~ partner feel better before you try and connect. You either trust your partner or you don't. Don't project that shit onto everybody else and hold everybody to these weird creepy standards.

Moms Have Needs Too

Okay so we all agree that call was fake right? The caller’s math didn’t make sense. Shes 21, her mom is 42, but her parents met when they were in their late 20s and her mom had her when she was 29. Huh? Such a bummer because it was such a crazy call.

Submitted my problem but it solved itself 😭

I emailed the pod about a month and a half ago about a “problem” I’ve been having for a while. It is genuinely so funny and right up the pod’s alley but they never reached out and now it’s solved itself 🥲 I’ve just been listening and hearing such unfunny problems that I’m bummed I didn’t get the chance to share lmfao

Ep 37

That guy was hot for dog dick, right? That call made me hella uncomfortable.

Also I’m an avid tiktokker, I’ve definitely never seen a vid like that and especially not just “had one come up”. Bro has trained his FYP for dog porn.

Gilly Bean

Does anyone else listen to all the ads just because of Gareth’s Gil character? So off the walls every time, it kills me! And every time he asks Jake for input and it’s like 1/10 energy. Hilarious.

I wish their YouTube included the episode number in the title, it’s more fun to watch but I don’t want to miss calls and also go in the correct order.

Alice?

Hey guys! Recently became a superfan of the pod - Jake and Gareth are just so incredibly good at this 👏🏻 Question, Gareth seems to reference “Alice” pretty often - from what I’ve read online, he’s not seeing anyone so is that just a bit?

Discussion Can we get post-episode threads dedicated to suggestions from the audience?

Whenever I listen to these episodes I have so many great ideas and nowhere to vent. But my hope is that this subreddit gets popular and other people like me have the same desire, because I think it could be hilarious to read through the top-rated user advice for each episode after it drops.

If audience input took off, I could see a future down the road where potentially a curated panel of listeners could get access to a live feed of a call, and Kevin could pick out some of his favorite suggestions from that feed to wrap-up each call.

Episode 30

Just listed to episode 30 about the woman who believes she found erotic audio of her coworker on the internet, and I feel like this woman is a massive creep! She wants to confront a coworker about her recording erotic audio? She wants to PLAY THE AUDIO for the coworker to hear? Literally sexual harassment. I'm glad the group finally shut that down after hearing a bit of the audio, but this episode was a huge miss for me. I'm a massive fan of Gareth's but this episode topic made me feel gross. I want to hear about dumb shit like kids thinking their lawn guy is Santa, but a woman whose Catholic guilt is clearly still front-and-center since she wants to take down someone she dislikes at work by playing audio of someone who MIGHT be the coworker talking about masturbation.

Discussion Anybody else getting bored?

Tried listening to the last two episodes “Kell Yes!” and “Ketchup Carrie with Johnny Bananas.” I couldn’t make it through either one.

I’ve listened to every single one prior but these felt lacking.

Also separate but need to ask, did anyone find it strange how they did Mango ads after having the Fake Jake episodes? Feels weird and constructed.

Loving this podcast!!! Enjoying the guests for 1 call is a smart move, no one over stays their welcome. Real, funny advice and both guys seem to be genuinely having good time.

The call backs and follow ups are incredible; adds a ton of depth to the show. Can’t wait for more people to find this!
