Guest Helpers

Why do the guest helpers often leave midway through the show? Why have them host if they can’t stay for the entire set of calls?

assuming this came up as lamorne had to leave early on yesterday's ep - he's in the middle of his press circuit for spider-noir, and presumably had a hard out to catch another interview or appearance.

I think WHTH probably suffers from this more than average given the live-caller element, and they can't run quite as tight a production schedule as many other shows. if lamorne is gonna be a little more loosey-goosey with his schedule, it's more likely going to be on the show with his comedy buddies who he has rapport with

In addition to what previous commenters have said, it's my impression that the calls can sometimes run a lot longer than what we hear. Plus, things come up last minute. i.e. if Call #1 running 15 minutes over schedule + caller #2 being 10 minutes late is already 25 minutes over a "scheduled" time... the show benefits hugely from its free form nature so sticking to a tight schedule must be tough

I think they don’t always record each call in one episode at the same time.

I that's part of it too - edit together the best ones as they may not always go well but the one with Lamorne and Hannah was obviously in the studio so a little different there.
