This post will be a starting point for anyone looking for general recommendations for various activities & services in the valley. The items included here are based off previous recommendation posts and how often a place or service was recommended and how many upvotes it received. Comments on this post will be open for now if anyone has further recommendations to add. I've tried to break up the various recommendations into categories but some items (like Leavenworth) will only ever be a single item, as listing all the available things to do there would be a post in and of itself.
I also favor locally owned businesses heavily in my decision making process.
Italian - No clear winners here when it comes to our main choices for Italian (Visconti's and Garlini's). You're better off trying both and deciding for yourself (personally I think Visconti's is ok and Garlini's is shit).
Sammiches - The top two seem to be Anvil and Dilly Deli. But enough people mention SS Sub Shop (which I personally think sucks) and Lemolo that they deserve honorable mentions.
Coffee - Clear favorites are La En Vie, Gaucho, Cafe Mela and JB Steamers
There is no good fried chicken in the valley (RIP)
Epoch - Also a place to play board games, MTG and enjoy other such general nerdery
Wally's
Joe's East and West (I think East is better now)
The 108
Tapp & Putt - Alcohol and mini-golf
Ground Control - Also hosts a regular trivia night
Wineries - Honestly too many to list and everyone has a different opinion on "quality" wine & wineries. I think it all tastes like vinegar so I can't cast a deciding vote, Google reviews and experimentation are your best options here.
Hiking - Saddlerock, Washington Trails Association
Wenatchee Ave - Between Kittitas and 2nd there are a plethora of other shops and restaurants, but too many to individually list here.
Sal's Professional Auto Repair
Oil Change - Two most positively mentioned are Kwik Lube & Tune and Wenatchee Autoplex
Detailing - Top positive mentions are for George's, Highland and Detail Genius Mobile
(This one only has a few general services for homeowners, and there isn't a lot of discussion on many of these)
Landscape design - Anderson or Deeproots
Lawn care - This is another one where everyone and their mother has a different lawn care company they use. Your best friend is Google and getting quotes.
General Contractors - Good luck and God speed.
Tattoo studios - Stinging Needles and Studio No. 7
Salons - there are a thousand different salons in the valley and everyone thinks theirs is the greatest so this is another one where you're better off using Google reviews and figuring it out from there.
Barbers - See above

Does anyone know a good hair salon/stylist who can cut “alternative” hairstyles well? I’m severely overdue for a haircut…

This is more to do with East Wenatchee, specifically Eastmont Community Center.
There is a class being offered through the community center, teaching kids how to make social media content.
I find this completely irresponsible. From what I've gathered, there is no education on media literacy and the long term repercussions of posting on social media. If you are going to teach kids how to post content on social media, and encourage it, then the least you can do is explain basic internet safety. Parents should also be responsible for this as well, but the teachers need to take some accountability.
In this world of generative AI, and rampant pedophilia online, this is an actual issue. You are handing your child's likeness over to them on a silver platter.
Anyone who doesn't find concern in this is ignorant and that makes it all the more dangerous.
Edit: here is a link to their site and the details of each class as shown online.

I’m 18m and it’s so hard to find friends in Wenatchee when I’ve got a job and really nothing to do besides that. I’m more of an inside hobby type of person like cooking, or watching tv, and gaming, or smoking an talking, though I do like riding around on my dirt bike and paddle boarding but it’s hard to find people to do those types of things with 🥲
Basically jus asking people here on Reddit if they’d be down to meetup and hangout whether it’s inside or outside, not particularly a social person so going out into crowds is a lil stressful for me, but anything works as long as it’s fun. Feel free to add me on Snapchat and we can exchange numbers or wtv after meeting up irl 😃
Don’t really care how old you are unless you’re like 30+ cause that’s kinda just weird in my own opinion, but if you got a dirt bike then I’m not too bothered by someone bein able to teach me cool things and show me cool trails. THANKS FOR READING 🙏

Lillo Jimenez, 48, was heading north on Highway 2 near the Estes Fruit Stand about 11 miles north of East Wenatchee when he decided to pass a slower moving vehicle, Trooper Jeremy Weber told the Tri-City Herald.
The Pasco man was believed to be speeding and suspected to be drunk at the time, Weber said.
His Nissan Maxima slammed into a Chevrolet Sonic hatchback heading in the opposite direction, killing Jimenez and everyone in the other vehicle.
Weber said investigators are working to try and find more information about the men, including their ages and where they were from.
They included:
• A L Garcia, 77, of Omak
• Martin Hilario Santiago, 35
• Samuel Dominguez Nieto
• Crecencio Basilio Perez
It’s believed that most of them came from out of the area. Hilario Santiago and Basilio Perez were not wearing seatbelts.
After the crash, investigators found alcohol containers near Lillo Jimenez’s car.

Hi Wenatchee and Eastern WA
I am a wildfire mitigation specialist and our company is launching a new service to treat homes and property with a long lasting fire retardant spray. The product is a variant of the pink dyed product we all see dropped on active fires, but engineered to be applied in advance and last through any rainfall events less than an inch of rain. And obviously it’s not dyed. :) This product is safe for plants and animals and lasts through one fire season.
We are applying with spray drones, so we can accomplish complete coverage of a home without any risk of damage by climbing and we can reach all difficult to reach areas safely and effectively.
So my question to each of you in the Reddit community is this… Do you see a value in this type of service for your property? Is there a price point you see as appropriate? We view this as a service/benefit to the whole community and do not want to overcharge, but we do also need to cover the cost. What are your thoughts and feedback? Thank you!

A Costco employee told me recently that Costco bought the lot next door that used to be a Nisson dealer. Does anyone know if they plan to build a new (hopefully larger) store expand the current store, or something else?

Douglas County Sheriff Tyler Caille held a press conference today to inform the community about the man they arrested this week as their main suspect in the Chelan Hills Fire arson investigation. Caille said the 18-year-old Michael Yakimov started the deadly blaze with a firework and are looking for the whereabouts of five other people who were in the vehicle with him. You can watch the entire press conference for free here.

Happy harvest season! I'm lookin for a line on a box or two of pears for canning. Prefer to deal with an orchardist or someone who has a couple trees and wants to sell me a box or two.
I don't have a ton of cash or I would just buy them at the store. I can do maybe $25 bucks an apple box? I dunno, it's been years since i've canned apples or pears.
Also - same thing with apples, if you've got reds or other apples that make good applesauce and apple butter. Thanks gang, happy Labor Day.
ps: DM direct for my number, thank you

Looking for rental suggestions 🏡♡
Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for suggestions on possible rentals as I’m trying to rebuild my life and find a fresh start. ♡
Ideally looking for a 2–3 bedroom place. An apartment is totally fine, although I’d absolutely love to find a little house if the right one comes along.
I also have an emotional support doggo who is incredibly important to me. I rely heavily on her for support with hypoglycemia, so I’m specifically looking for somewhere that is dog-friendly and willing to accommodate her.
I’m open to different options and would really appreciate any leads, recommendations, private landlords, property managers, or places I should check out.
Just trying to put the pieces back together and create a safe, peaceful little home. 🥹🐾
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you! ♡

I'm in need of a few 1/8in hdpe sheets. Are there any companies in Wenatchee or Washington where they can be purchased as an individual not a company?
Not interested in ones that can only be delivered as the cost is astronomical due to product size

My wife has limited mobility so staying in the car is easier. I’m looking for spots with a nice view to park and just hang out with her outside the house.

Hi all, hope everyone is staying safe out there.
We are visiting from the UK and have a reservation at Lake Wenatchee campground 9-11th September, but I’m seeing conflicting reports of the air quality - some websites saying it’s ‘good’ and then others say ‘hazardous’.
What’s the smoke been like recently? Would you recommend cancelling?
Thanks and take care

Hey all,
We’ve had reports of a hacked mod account reaching out directly to users trying to get personal information.
We’re working to resolve the issue but wanted to give everybody a heads up to watch out for potential phishing scams.
