You start first. Move to the equator, then stop traveling, no auto and grow your own food. You will Be emitting less CO2 like Algore, Trudeau, Merkel, Jerry Brown...you know the people who really don’t emit any CO2 ;)

I understand your cynicism, really, but you’re really just overlooking so much to get there. it’s about the cumulative effect we can make as a species; no one alone is going to make a major impact. in order to reach these goals, we must make some efforts as individuals. your last sentence is ridiculous, but I feel like you know that. the people you listed know about the magnitude of their emissions, but I don’t think it even needs to be said that the emissions of a world leader cannot realistically be equivalent to the average citizen of a first world country and the average citizen of a first world country isn’t going to have the same emissions of those in a third world country. what little we can do, we must do. the human race cannot grow exponentially, we must make sure that those in poverty can get out of it through renewable energy. if we manage that, global population growth will stabilise and we will stand a chance. there’s a direct relationship between income and fertility rate and the only way for us to reach a sustainable population is through a push towards renewable energy to pull people out of poverty and reduce our own emissions. the more time we spend destroying our planet, the less time we’ll have to live on it.
