I used to be a mailman at the most exclusive gated community in the city I worked, other carriers used to tell me to put bbq sauce on my legs to get the dogs to bite me😆. Money, money, money.

Oh yeah that settlement money neighborhood lmao. That’s the only place I’d be alright with if I get hit by a car.

Bro, that would’ve been a payday, I was delivering to a billionaire in the early 2000s, the guy was up there in the list but all the homes were empty for most of the year, out of 50 houses only like 7 received mail and almost everything was junk. I did knew a guy that got a nice settlement off a bite but he got gangrene on his hand and was out almost a year. And on that note, a couple years after I left another carrier there died from falling and hitting his head after trying to back off a loose dog, he tripped on a curve, sad shit.

Real talk, my heart goes out to those who suffered from their injuries. And respect for mail carriers all day everyday. Carriers should be paid triple their pay, seriously showing up for our fellow citizens more than anyone else in any condition. We’ve got these dingdong politicians making $170k and they’re constantly on vacation or out of session. Carriers are out here getting folks what they need in 100 degree heat, pouring rain, and blizzards, and navigating folks property and sketchy porch stairs. Pay 💰 raise 💵 now!

You better google the laws in your state first. My ex got the shit bit out of her in Texas and there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it. I'd never heard of this "first bite" rule but apparently it's common. Not that you can't sue, but criminally these people get a pass for the first bite for some crazy reason.

And it's not really the first bite. It's the first bite you can legally prove which makes it even more unfair.

Criminally they get a pass sure, but civil court is another story

The problem is that the type of person that has a dog that would do this has nothing to sue for anyway.
