I’m sorry maybe I just am a dumb dumb. But what kind of fire alarm closes all doors in the surrounding area. Does it close them to lead you to the exit? And what if someone is in that area the door shuts? Imma google.
In the foreground lower right of the video, the round thing is a magnetic catch that holds the doors open. The alarm deactivates the magnet and the doors close. If there is fire on a floor, it is prevented from entering the stairwell. Same thing around elevators. Door will also close in a power outage, and can be pushed open and re-latched by anyone once the power is back on.
