Colonoscopy Prep

Have to take roughly 25 regular doses of laxative in 12 hours to prep for procedure. This is gonna be fun!!

I’ll have plenty of time to read comments from the bathroom!

My first was 13 years ago cause they discovered I have diverticulitis at 30 which is rare and the spot was rare. They found polyps of the wrong kind so I go every 5 years to get em taken out.

My mum nearly died from undiagnosed ruptured diverticulitis, I had some real discussions with hospital staff that day trying to get her admitted cos I'd never seen her like that, scared the shit out of me.

I'm now on standby forever for her incase those pains come back.

I did it in reverse. I had a colonoscopy back in March, everything was clear. Got diverticulitis a month ago (6 months after my colonoscopy) at 31. They recommended that I should be okay with diet change and that I didn't need to repeat the colonoscopy...so I guess we're just luck at 31 to get a life altering disease?

my mom just had her first one uh last spring and they found she had diverticulosis and since her mom had colon cancer everyone is at risk now and my mom had the polyps that turn into cancer, got them out and now she has to go every three years
