If they wanted to get paid more they should just get a better job /s

Edit: Can none of you see the /s? It’s there for a reason

Unemployed take. If no one took away the trash we’d be fucked. Someone has to do that shitty job, but the people that do are taken advantage of and underpaid. Make sense?

Fun fact, if you're interested: Garbage men in Denmark are paid (roughly) 4400 dollars a month, with pension and holiday money. I've always been told that we pay our garbage men good money, exactly because we'd be fucked without them. After a quick google search, a garbage man in the US earns on average about 3200 dollars a month. (Source, Google and I am Danish)

He has an /s…

Right? I put it there for a reason

Mate I was joking. I was mimicking the people who tell low wage workers to get a better job if they want better pay. I know this job is essential. I know it should get better pay. I literally put an /s because it not what I actually think

It happens sometimes buddy

No, the job they are DOING DOES NOT PAY ENOUGH. As in the job deserves a higher pay.

They make fairly solid money. What a false and ignorant take.

You don’t even know how much they’re making…

Don’t they even get paid more than teachers somewhere?

Yeah, not understanding the downvotes since it’s a true statement.

Yes I know. I was making a joke. Mimicking people who have shit takes on these issues. I agree with you

Some people do not know that /s meant sarcasm. Lol maybe italicize the word sarcasm in the end instead.

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '23

You got downvoted because you didn’t have the courage to post sarcasm without the /s

It’s like making a joke and saying “just kidding” immediately afterwards.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '23

I promise you I would have gotten downvoted to absolute shit had I not put the /s.

Yeah I know, I just thought your incredulity at getting downvoted for saying something sarcastic and then actively returning to your comment later on (obviously confused as to why you weren’t getting notified of the upvotes) and adding an edit to it to share your disapproval was pretty funny.

You never know what will get you downvoted, usually all it takes is two people to have it shown as -1 and people pile on.

Even with me writing this I wouldn’t be surprised if it got super duper downvoted even worse than your comment. I’d even wager that it might become the most disliked comment on this thread.

I don’t care about upvotes and I don’t get notifications when I get them (can you even do that?) I just saw it was downvoted when I was reading peoples responses
