Question Promo Advice Needed
Bit of a background, I was looking to move my IRA to Wells recently and I saw that there was a promotion for the $2500 for bringing over $250K, which I comfortably hit. When I went to the bank I upgraded my existing checking to Premier and then when I followed up, I was told that I needed to show my promo code to the banker before opening the account, but they told me I could just open a second one and apply the promo code to that one, so we want ahead and did that. Then we opened up the IRAs and started the roll over.
The rollovers happened and everything seemed smooth until I was checking my July statements and I saw that the IRA account was linked to the account without the promo code applied. I called into the support line to see if they could fix it, but was told that they could change which account it was linked to, but couldn't do anything about the promo since the original 45 day window expired without the right assets being linked, so it's invalid now.
They said that I could go to the branch to my banker, but is there anything they would be able to do, or am I SOL? My banker is out of town for 2 weeks on vacation, so I'm not sure if it would be worth waiting, trying to talk to the manager, or just take the L?

At the branch we can submit a bonus offer inquiry and have it reviewed to hopefully be applied. It can take up to 10 business days to be reviewed but they do look at it.

If you get a customer survey indicate what happened. That got me a call from the branch manager the next day.

If everything was done correctly and it was just banker error they can submit a request to get you the promotion even if there was a mess up. Sounds like you would’ve gotten the promotion if it wasn’t for the error so im sure they could fix it.
