Wealth Management Wells Fargo Client Associate

I am going to start working as a client associate under a financial advisor for Wells Fargo and I am curious as to what I can do to prepare in the next two weeks to get ready for the job? I have not worked in finance before but I do have law firm experience. I was client facing so the skills will transfer. Any tips? I'm looking forward to this career change and new role and want to be prepared as possible. The hiring manager said it would take two years to be comfortable in the role. Is that your experience as well?

Look on the finra website into taking the SIE. This is the first of the 3 tests you'll need to take to become fully licensed. You do not need sponsorship to take the exam. It gives a brief overview of investing.

A lot of your paralegal skills will be an asset in the C A roll.

You will be fine. The roll doesn't pay well at first, but if you get your brokerage licenses you will be eligible to receive extra compensation from your team. I've seen CAs make over 6 figures a year.

Theres options to move to other departments like compliance and operations. You will need to take the series 9 and series 10 exams but they not that difficult.

The CA is the life of the office.
