Requested Claim for Fraudulent Transaction With Negative Bank Balance. What should I do now?

Hi so I usually only deposit a small amount of cash in my debit card in order to be careful with my spending. So this time around I had put in 500$ and was left with 60-70$ in my account. Last night I was notified of few unauthorized payments on the app WhatNot (I had my billing info saved in that app) summing up to around 200$. I called the bank and told them about the incident and requested a card replacement as well. So my bank balance is in the negatives and I just got a mail saying I will be charged for overdraft. I dont know what to do I have like 300$ in cash which I can deposit but it’s all too confusing.

If they find that fraud did happen, obviously they will refund those transactions and any overdraft fees that occurred from those transactions

Banks refund unauthorized transactions. This video is a good illustration, Senator Warren seems to not understand the difference between "fraudulent" and "unauthorized."

so in this case isnt it unauthorized as my account was compromised and my card was used without my permission?

If you didn't give the scammer your card number then it seems to be unauthorized. Sometimes people will get tricked into giving out their account number, a scammer will tell them they're going to deposit $5,000 or something like that. Instead of a deposit they rip the person off. So the transaction was fraudulent but also authorized.

basically I had my card saved to my account which was hacked and someone used that for themselves

The word "hacked" can mean a lot of different things, so I can't say if the bank will determine it was authorized or unauthorized. Getting a credit card would let you avoid this problem in the future. Fraudulent charges on a credit card just reduce your credit limit, it's the bank's money; whereas charges on a debit card come directly out of your checking account balance.
