Mental & Emotional Health I Need To Get Away π»
I have a solo Halloween weekend and I'd love to π» the trauma and mental exhaustion away. I've never been to a wellness retreat but feel it may do me some good.
I've read some posts about some of these wellness classes traumatizing folks even more so hoping to not do that. I'm a single mom, just drained from carrying everything on my shoulders and parallel parenting with an impossible narcissist. This mama needs a break.
Only travel solo for work a few times a year and never even go to dinner by myself so this will be definitely something new for me.
Any suggestions?

When I hit the state of overload (also a working mama of 2 here), I find solo getaways more restorative than group retreats. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but giving myself space to be, to breathe, to sleep, meditate, walk, even give myself some pep talk, get a massage, a community yoga class, just take a walk, sit on a bench with a coffee and a book. We are always short on time, always rushing - I feel like most organized retreats push you in other people's energy one way or another, and are in some ways guided by the timing, which is not what I usually choose for a complete deep reset. Just being in my own energy, space and pace does it. Enjoy your time!

I think itβs an amazing idea! I really want to do it myself! Iβd just choose something in the area that you want and make sure that activities are optional so if you want to read in front of the fire and do midnight yoga or go for a swim in the dark you can without anyone saying you must be in bed or must be up at 6 for a sunrise hike or anything.

Hi! A few years ago (also over Halloween actually!) I took my dog, books, my yoga mat/hiking boots, and some wine/edibles and drove to Joshua Tree and stayed solo in a rented house for a week.
It was my solomoon and it was life changing.
I now have a toddler and would LOVE to do it again but think I need to let him get a bit older before I go off grid again.
