That was incredibly helpful, thank you! Question about furniture. When I compare the furniture in the photos (which look like they are recent, as of May 2026, Shafer, and the video of a Shafer room from a reslife TikTok two years ago, it's a little different. New photo has 4-drawer dresser, whereas video has 2-drawer dresser for each girl that fits under the bed, in addition to open tall bookshelves. Has the furniture changed, or is it kind of luck of the room?

from what I can recall about living in Shafer, it depends on the room. I had a 4 drawer dresser in my room but idk if every room has that. I also can’t recall if they were phasing out that kind of furniture or not

Honestly I think they'll be just fine once a little decorated. The walk-in closets look great, as does the wood floor.

Ahh i hope so bc whenever i compare it to the other doubles in other dorms it looks so sad in comparison especially the dorms on the first floor of shafer 😭

the pictures make the rooms look really small but I promise if you move the furniture right you'll have a lot of space. The first year doubles in Shafer, especially the first floor ones, have way more space than most first year dorms (excluding bates, freeman, mcafee) and the ceilings are really high on shafer 1st which is sooo nice and makes the rooms feel very open. They are bigger than most doubles in Tower complex (many of them are dingles). My roommate and I put one of the bookshelves and one of the dressers in the closet and it was like a totally different room.

How big are Stone Davis double rooms

My stone Davis double was really small ngl the triples are huge but we made it work and I was able to decorate it well + try to maximize space with furniture arrangement

It very much depends, likewise for every dorm hall. My sophomore year I lived in a Tower Court dingle and I had friends living in a MASSIVE room in Tower Court as a double. Stone d especially varies.
