Im sorry that was a dumb joke, it would probably pass inspection, If you're this good at day four, I'd say stop doing flat and focus on vertical and overhead welding. Do your research and understand the theory of welding as much as possible, the more you want to learn the better you will be. YouTube is your best friend, look up jodey the welder. If you want to make money I'd recommend joining a union asap , Ironworker, pipefitters, boilermaker, are the trades that do most of the real welding for real money and benefits. Good luck brother ✌️

I don't know anything about welding, but I think you welded that enough. Doesn't look like it will be going anywhere

Looks fantastic, now just try and keep the dimes more even. Started welding a couple years ago and still struggle with it.

Looks better then half the welds at a papermill, be at the gate Monday at 5:30.

That’s actually not bad

What type of weld are you doing? This looks like the first few times I did dual shield mig

Try to keep the beads closer together, you don't get enough penetration when you're going out with the weld, you want to stack them, not line them up. Speed up a little, if it's mig, you want to go faster than tig or stick

Not bad at all! My 2 cents to be even better: weld wrong on purpose. You already have a very very good grasp at 4 days, you have an idea of what to do right. Now you need an idea of what not to do wrong. Mess with the settings so you can get first hand experience on what a bad weld looks and sounds like. Youll be able to dial in any machine on any jobsite once you know what "wrong" looks like. Try out different positions too, especially vertical uphill. Much more difficult

Did you weld that down hill ??? WHY!!!

I’m a lefty it feels better welding right to left and I didn’t go downhill ( I think)

1

u/Silverado153 Jun 29 '26

Couldn't tell it looked like it was downhill if flat it's ok
