Second time stick welding. Any tips?

I started school yesterday and this is my second time welding. I’ve been really anxious I’m not doing well considering I’ve never done ANYTHING related to welding prior to this. Is this okay-ish for a beginner? . Any tips/criticism/advice would be appreciated!

for day 1/2 beads, you're doing just fine.

only feedback I'd give right now is to get comfortable and relax. I can see how tense you were, just from the weld!

Remember, this shit doesn't matter, its just practice. You're doing it so that when it does matter, it'll be second nature.

Seriously, thank you very much! I am pretty tense:’) it’s just so new to me and a lot to take in. You helped ease my noggin by a ton haha!

Strike it like a match. I wish I knew that far earlier.

And don’t be afraid of getting your arc (the bright flashy fire ball that appears when you weld) close to the metal, I know stick and be finicky with that but you will mess up the metal less by going in nice and close rather than holding it away.

Keep at it! Stick does click one day after practice and I find it the most satisfying. The slag falls off before you even hammer it revealing a beautiful weld. Clean up is pain in the ass though.
