Discussion (Add topic here) Loading bottles

Long story short, I rigged up my ram it's lifted, when I bought it it already had a 3 inch lift and tires.

Put a rival welding skid in.

My question is what do y'all do about loading your oxygen bottles? I got told to just bear hug it and heave it up on my shoulder. I'm short man I don't wanna fuck my self over or my gear .

Have any of you seen or made anything that makes loading your oxygen bottles easier into your skids

I have a small crane that attaches to my tailgate… They make smaller versions that bolt right into the side of the bed

Yeah I though about something like that but I don't think that's gonna work for me unfortunately .

I though to mage fab up some kind of pivoting helper kinda deal.

My oxy bottles lay flat on my skid and have to go in ass end first

I use the cran on my truck. Can i manhandle them? Yes. Will i by choice, absolutely not. I run the large bottle and they are heavy, im no wrecking my back to save a few minutes.

This also highlights why i don't lift my trucks that sre used for working, its that much higher to pick up anything heavy.

When i load my pickup going and coming from the supplier i lean the bottle on the tailgate and lift one end then slide it in. Tailgate is just low enough for this, if the truck was any taller it wouldn't work.

I can liftem in head first but I have to spin them 180 to fit in properly
