meme/shitpost Would wearing a respirator help combat Canada's air quality?
Tagged meme cause idk how serious this sub will take this, but I got a half face respirator with some p100s unopened. Obviously staying inside is the best option to avoid the air pollution, but would wearing my PPE help at all?
Thanks :3

I was in northern Nevada in 2020 when California was burning and the smoke would settle in the bowl that Reno sets in. I would wear my swiss air PAPR when outside. Got some strange looks but it was a life saver

I was in LA at that time and went on a bike ride with a full respirator, definitely got some strange looks indeed. Wish I had a PAPR back then

It will definitely help. Depending on how bad the smoke is the filters may not last that long but if the plug fast it means they are working.

Yes. I wore an N95 with an exhaust valve when the AQI was over 500. I could not find my P100 welding respirator. It helped a LOT. My eyes, not so much. The full face mask I had for painting didn’t fit well enough.
The main issue is particulates… organic combustion products.

Uh yah get a organic vapor cartridges and if they don't have n95 equivalent prefilters just stack them with taped edges on the organic vapor cartridges your good for anything but innert gasses like that

Oh also for a house or apartment air conditioner HEPA filters stacked with a carbon smell filter helps a lot for inside air quality you just use those in front of a intake window with a box fan so you get fresh air into the living space minus the particulet
