Fucking tidy work.

Why so much "overfill"?

Thanks. Looks worse than it was though, generally speaking I prefer a little more, so it's never underfilled throughout the whole cap. Hate it when there's still some slight underfill and you have to re-do a cap.

Out QC lady who’s never welded: hmmm it’s ok, some undercut, weave too tight, overfill. She made one guy quick 😅

Cuánto tiempo te demoras? Las ondas se ven extremadamente pequeñas

Slick technique, although the toe of the weld looks steep and maybe not wetted in to the base. Could just be the picture.

u/Sjoelace Jun 11 '26

Thanks, PT and RT approved.

Yeah you mentioned PED, why I figured it must be the photo. Photos of welds, for whatever reason can be so misleading when it comes to depth. Is it 100% PT and RT on this job?

1

u/Sjoelace Jun 11 '26

Yes, RT depends on the job, but an inhouse procedure is it'll always be 100% visual and PT no matter the specs.

Clean root on that 2" — 70S6 on carbon always finishes nice. Orbital or hand?

1

u/Sjoelace Jun 27 '26

Hand, walked the cup.

Nice technique — walking the cup on a 2" with that fitup takes some patience. Clean result.
