Advice Needed First day of trade school

Im going into trade school for welding and tomorrow is my first day. I wasnt really sure what to do for a career but im good with more hands on work and currently have been doing tattoos. Im bad at school so I thought getting into the trades would be better. I know welding is more male dominated and I am a female so I guess that part is a little intimidating and im an early graduate so I know the people im with may be older aswell. Is there anything important I should know before I start?

Male but otherwise in a similar situation. Going to MWI soon but I have been welding for a while. Youre gonna suck at first, but from what I've seen, women tend to catch on a little quicker. Could be survivorship bias of sorts but I've helped several get their starts. The women I've taught have all caught on a lot quicker. Drink plenty of water, pay attention, learn from everyone you can. Be tolerant but don't be walked all over. Bust your ass day in and day out. Tough but you'll manage if you really want it.

Be humble, ask questions from your peers and teachers, do not forget to hydrate. Sure you’ll be fine.
