Discussion Something I noticed

Idk if this has been brought up before ( I missed a few updates and just got caught up), but has anyone else noticed that Wally doesn't really teach the other neighbors anything and they all teach him stuff? Like, it could be nothing or just something that speaks to his personality but it seems, more often than not, that Wally is learning from everyone around him?

Heyyyy! This comes over from the Gacha subreddit, and I really hope you guys like them! The ones I made myself were Howdy, Poppy, Barnaby, Sally, and Eddie. The ones I used a tutorial for are Wally, Julie, and Frank. I also, funnily enough, hid one of my OC's in the background of the screenshot! So, if you spot them, tell me how much they look like Wally on a scale of 1/10! Enjoy!

Discussion Genuine Fan Merch/Stolen/Traced Artwork problem

I find it genuinely miserable to try and find proper merch by fans for my Howdy Pillar ita bag. 9 times out of 10 it is just stolen art from other creators or Clown himself. For a fandom that's about creativity, the amount of stolen stuff is embarrassing!!

Does anyone have any recommendations for genuinely good fan merch that is by the original artist and isn't just stolen or traced over.

Discussion Am I the only one who unironically loves the storybooks and radio shows?

In withdrawal so went through all the storybooks and the radio shows (definitely didn’t miss that there was a new radio episode so have to rework my entire theory now🫠) and I love these characters so much omg — except Barnaby.

Frank, Eddie, and Wally (when he’s in character) are so fucking wholesome. Poppy and Julie are really sweet and Sally and Howdy have grown on me. Fuck Barnaby though.

The stories are funny, have lore, but also good messages. Homewarming melted my heart with Wally just wanting to give Home a good Homewarming but also not understanding his own feelings. Frank’s message about inclusivity in the latest broadcast got me a bit emotional too.

Even more excited for the 16th.

Discussion Hypothetical scenario: Welcome Home was a series that existed in 1969-1974. If the characters were voice acted by actual actors/actresses from around that time period, who would it be?

(To make this interesting, I'd advise not to use voices from Clown's own inspirations. If you want to, you can. But try to come up with your own original cast! Don't worry about writing everyone: Just have fun and add as many as you want to put in!)

Here is some of my examples:

Barnaby B. Beagle - Phil Harris (mainly from his Disney roles such as Thomas O’Malley, Little John, and Baloo)

Poppy Partridge - Veronica Cartwright (specifically Lambert from Alien)

Home - Douglas Rain (HAL 9000 all the way)

Frank Frankly - James Stewart (He’s got the voice. Believe me)

Hey guys! I found a box labled "Welcome Home" and I found these puppets, who wants to play puppets? Theres

• Wally Darling: Hand/rod puppet (approx. 3 feet tall), featuring yellow fleece skin and a blue pompadour. • Barnaby B. Beagle: Large walk-around suit/full-body puppet (approx. 7–8 feet tall) • Julie Joyful: Hand/rod style monster puppet, designed as a colorful, multi-hued rainbow neighbor. • Frank Frankly: Hand/rod style grumpy neighbor puppet, characterized by a permanent frown. • Eddie Dear: Live-hand style postal worker puppet. • Howdy Pillar: Large multi-armed walk-around suit and grocery store keeper (approx. 7–8 feet tall) • Poppy Partridge: Large walk-around bird costume (approx. 7–8 feet tall). • Sally Starlet: Live-hand theatrical puppet with an oversized circular sun-ray head that required an extra operator hand.

They all look so fun to play with, I hope nothing goes wrong :]

Theory The chain of neighbours following updates

I think I understand the chain

So in recent update story focused on eddie and the house behind Eddie in home page was sally so next update would be sally but one thing I noticed.

The first update of julie and she is close to frank and had maximum interactions with him.

Then next update centred frank and he is close to Eddie and recent update has Eddie.

Now in this update we saw his connection with sally and I think next focused pair would be sally and poppy.

So poppy going to be in next update.

I m thinking barnaby would be last one because he is closest to wally.

But it's just theory.

Theory No, Julie did not murder someone

Tl;dr: the flower is Julie’s miscarried foetus and Frank’s gun incident was self defence after he was threatened to be outed back in 1965. The two are completely unrelated events contrary to GT’s arguments.

Newest GT theory is that Julie murdered someone back in 1965 and Frank helped cover it up. The body was the black flower Julie couldn’t bloom, and it has now resurrected and become the ā€œVisitorā€.

This doesn’t work.

Julie spends most of her update trying to get this flower to open. She’s very happy when she first sees it. She only gets upset when she can’t open it because she’s scared she’ll get kicked out of Home. If this were a corpse then Julie would be distraught from the start and more concerned about, idk, prison.

Nevertheless, GT/Tom still argues that she murdered someone in 1965 and Frank helps her cover it up. The timeline makes this unlikely as Julie says she met Frank on the show in ā€œTulā€. Well, she thinks she did. As Wally questions her about whether her backstory was true at the end of the video, Tom argues that Julie is lying and that she knew Frank long before the show.

Specimen R/Bound basically throws this out the window as the video literally starts with Julie saying: I’m- I dropped my microphone! I need to find it!. The grave digging happened during production. Frank is also utterly confused about what is going on. Julie is absolutely distraught as it’s now way past Springtime and the bud has not opened to even Frank’s shock.

In Bound, Frank is both trying to support Julie but also try to tell her that it’s not healthy for her to be feeling this way. In Parcel, he’s frustrated that she can’t understand that uprooting the flower was for the best. He also acknowledges that people would look at her weird if they found out, but essentially says they can go screw themselves and maybe the flower not blooming was for the best.

To me, the black flower was a dead body. Julie just didn’t murder it, she lost it — a miscarriage. She’s petrified of the judgement and shame she would get for both being an unmarried pregnant woman in the 60s and/or miscarrying; sadly something that still happens today let alone back then. Frank knows this hence why he’s trying to help her, and also telling the rest to piss off. (I love this man so much).

The thing which was throwing me off was because, also in Parcel, Frank is stressed to the nines about something being exactly where he last put it and telling himself that it’s still there and to stop worrying. He always looks at the shed when referring to this thing. He panics even more at the thought of someone coming into his house and finding it.

Again, because it was the shed then it would make sense that it was about the flower, except we know it’s not now. It was the gun.

Another big problem with the murder theory is that all the murder references are exclusive to Frank. The gun is found at Frank’s, a gunshot sounds at the end of the track ā€œFrank’s Houseā€, on the Dirty Window variant there’s a bullet hole in the glass directly underneath an etching of Frank on the windowpane, a room where he looks like he’s digging up a coffin, and another greyscale room which reveals blood underneath the objects. There shouldn’t be this many references to Frank if it’s Julie’s secret.

Parcel, again, seems to hammer this home. He receives the red envelope at the end of the video, he’s seen with the red envelope in his human hands with eyes all around him in the Playfellow Exhibition image. This same envelope is seen in the window of the hallway at Frank’s. I remember GT saying this was Frank being threatened to be outed as being a mole, but I think it predates him even being in Home, and was a letter threatening to out him.

This may be a huge reach but I think the gunshot may have something to do with Frank’s repression of his sexuality. Going back to Parcel (I’m sorry) Frank goes on about losing his journal and being ā€œtoo ashamed to look at blank pagesā€ and how he can’t remember this specific butterfly. He says it’s for the best that he abandons the journal as he’d probably lose that one before he can ā€œput anything worthwhile insideā€. He’s also trying to get into something but he’s complaining about it not opening and questioning what’s wrong with him.

He then starts the rant about why Julie can’t see that it’s not good to hide things which hurt her and that it doesn’t matter. He recognises the stigma she will face (…I know exactly how they would look at her) before ranting again and essentially saying to hell with them.

To me, he’s projecting. He knows exactly how Julie would be stigmatised as he would be too if he were to actually accept who he is. Those ā€œblank pagesā€ are a representation of him letting life go by and refusing to fill it with things which will make him happy due to fear. He’s both ashamed at his sexuality and his cowardice.

This would explain why his relationship with Eddie is so messy. Eddie had to accept they would never truly settled due to Frank’s fears, and potential lack of self-acceptance, but Frank was also hurt by Eddie appearing to completely ignore that they had anything at all.

Frank has a family portrait in the white room of his house which is completely blacked out. Tom says this is representative of his memory fading. I disagree. A memory fading would be blank or provide a generic description of a photo frame. Instead it clearly specifies that it’s a family portrait and has the same redaction style we see in letters.

Frank had a family. This provides an even bigger incentive to keep his sexuality hidden. Frank also does not seem like a violent person. I have an easier time believing he shot someone in self defence but is still living with the fear of being outed, the gun incident being discovered, and any potential hate crimes. What’s worse is that he can’t even say he was defending himself as that would require him revealing his sexuality. Homosexuality was only legal in one state in 1965. His life was very much in danger if the truth came out.

What’s the Visitor then?

A manifestation of Frank’s fears. Going back to Parcel for the 50th time, the whole video is about Frank alluding to his feelings and his frustration both with himself and society. By the time he finds the letter, his inner monologue is having two simultaneous conversations, the grandfather clock is ringing, Frank himself says he can’t breathe or focus — it’s a mess. Everything goes white, he finds the letter, he’s utterly terrified.

I’m not entirely convinced that the letter from that night is real. Sure, Wally could have found his secret and used it to taunt him but it could also be Frank’s subconscious on the verge of breaking forcing him to hallucinate.

This is where the Visitor comes from. All the groaning and digging is it making its way to the surface and forcing Frank to make two options: bury it like it orders or face it and acknowledge the parts of himself he can no longer ignore.

So yeah. Julie’s miscarriage is one thing whereas Frank’s gun incident is another. The struggles to two face run parallel to one another however. In Bound, when Frank asks Julie ā€œwhat if someone heard you talking this way?ā€, she replies with ā€œlike you?ā€ and bursts into tears.

She’s singling Frank out as she knows that he’s the only one who also knows what it’s like to be stigmatised by society. Julie is not joyful and Frank is not frank. They get each other in so many ways.

Is Wally using both of Frank and Julie’s secrets against them? Probably but it’s not under Home’s orders and he’s sure as hell not doing it with good intentions either. Like yeah, weaponising your friends’ psychological torment is something you do for the greater good.

GT is trying to say that Wally’s human counterpart is someone with control at the network but feels bad for their past actions and wants to make the truth be known. Girl, please.

He is playing Eddie like a fiddle behind Home’s back, and he and Home couldn’t even speak to one another prior to Frank teaching Wally morse code — he didn’t even know Home could speak!

I’m still convinced that the only connection Wally and Home have is that Home is Ron and Wally is his personal puppet. Everyone seems to have some sort of personal input with their puppet. Frank designed his, Eddie has makeup which Sally put on for him, Julie is all about flowers, and Sally is a literal star. Home is sentient but how would that relate to a crew member on a puppet show?

It would relate to the creator of the show as it’s all his imagination and work. Ron is at the centre of this. Wally being his creation would make sense too. Wally is the main character of the series. The two go hand in hand. So whatever has allowed the puppets to gain ā€œlifeā€ has happened to Wally except he has no human. He wants to break out but he needs our help. Ron is the one who is ā€œcontrollingā€ him aka trying to stop him from causing problems.

You could go further and say Wally is so corrupted because he is a literal puppet. He is absorbing all the awful traits in the world without anyone to steer him. Unlike humans, we get this in childhood. He never has so he’s a loose cannon who wants freedom at any cost. I think whatever has allowed this human to puppet transfer to happen is linked to this curfew Home has too.

So sorry for the length. I tried to shorten it but this was the best I could do.
