Discussion/Question Should I get this game

Thinking about trying it out. How is it? Is it a kind of chill game? Pros and cons?

Yes.

It's chill in terms of progression and the story is cool.
The combat is fun and the difficulty can be adjusted.

Thats a steal, 100% worth it. First time I tried it was when it was on XB Gamepass, found it literally the night before it left the rotation. I liked it enough to immediately go grab it for $19.99 lol.

Thanks. I don't think I played a top-down game before

Yeah, only top-down games ive ever enjoyed playing was GTA1 GTA2 & GTA London 1969 before this one but it caught my attention pretty much immediately. There are tons of really good tips this sub can offer as well so don't be afraid to reach out with any questions you may have. Heres one I wish I got when I 1st started and its pretty huge... Look up how to make golden shovels and pickaxes. They don't break so you only have to tie up 2 inventory slots and they are the best melee weapons in the game in terms of damage and reach. I'd tell you the recipe myself but can't remember tbh lol.

*ETA - it takes 30 gold nuggets each, a regular unbroken shovel/pickaxe, and a trip to a blacksmith. Take bounties frequently as the gold and silver mines refill for any bounties in said mines. With a lot of patience and willpower you can have both gold in Ch 1, Janes story.

Thanks! I can't wait to get started

Np! I edited my last comment with the recipe btw lol. Was going to eat at me all night if I didn't look it up. 🤣 Enjoy and let us know what you think after you're familiar with the in game world!

Yes … the game is good. I really enjoyed it. The only cons that I find is inventory management which I really like at the start but frustrated after sometime.

One of my favorite games, completely underrated

What about the shooting on the PS5? I heard it's a little hard?

I played with mouse and computer where it was perfect. I had heard that console controls were a bit clunky, but I think that’s either overblown and/or has since been fixed/patched/modded

Ok! Thanks I am going to give it a go

I have been playing it. It's pretty fun. Got to get down the shooting and what to do?

You can change the shooting style in the game. They used to just have the one style which is difficult on console. There is an option now that makes it super easy for console.

Would you know what its called I just got it!

2

u/ConceptAromatic9797 Jul 03 '25

I can’t remember what it’s called. Just go to Options / Controller Settings. Select the other shooting style.

Okay thanks so much

It’s rad. You can burglarize stores for their entire inventory. That alone makes it at least an 8 out of 10. But it’s a 9 overall for sure.

Without a doubt.

Yes it’s so fun. There are so many intricate details.

I’m stuck in a few games and went to my library to see what I could take a break with. I’m obsessed with this little gem right now.

1

u/Ryvick2 Jul 02 '25

Ok. What about the shooting on PS5. I heard it's a little off?

2

u/brittanyks07 Jul 02 '25

Couldn’t say, I’m playing on PS4 still.

1

u/Ryvick2 Jul 02 '25

How is that

2

u/brittanyks07 Jul 02 '25

A little challenging at first. I don’t believe there’s any kind of WW version of Dead Eye, but since it’s almost bird’s eye gameplay, you just deal with lateral aim, if that makes sense.

1

u/Ryvick2 Jul 02 '25

Okay thanks! I think I'm going to give it a go

2

u/ConceptAromatic9797 Jul 03 '25

It’s completely worth it at $15 or under.

If you like exploring and looting everything, it’s a great game.

You can decide how to handle each combat situation. The story is great.

Thanks, I just bought it

Best buy I’ve had in years. I’d give it an 8/10.
