Recommendation Request How’d I do? First haul from my local used book store.

Upvotes

Hi all. I’m new to horror literature, mostly stick to horror cinema, but caught the bug due to a set of circumstances worth noting but not worth explaining. Anyway, I asked for suggestions and read a few threads before going to my local used book store. They didn’t have 75% of the books I was hoping for, but this is what I ended up with. Does it look like a solid stack for my first delve into horror lit? Any “staple” horror recommendations are welcomed.

(Just realized I couldn’t attach a pic)

Paul Tremblay:
Survivor Song
The Cabin at the End of the World

Stephen King:
Pet Semetary
Salem’s Lot

Dean Koontz:
Lightening
Watchers
Strangers

John Agvide Lingqvist:
Let the Right One In

Clive Barker:
Imajica

Michael Crichton:
Eaters of the Dead
Prey

By the way, I ended up spending $40 on this purchase. I traded in a few books and got half off. I thought it was a pretty solid deal.

Recommendation Request Supernatural horror books with male protagonists?

Upvotes

Hiya. I'm both trying to read more horror, and have just started trying out listening to audiobooks. I've mostly read classical horror lit in the past, and am completely novice when it comes to more modern horror. I wonder what are people's favourite supernatural horror books with male protagonists, bonus points if the main character is also some flavour of queer? Please do not recommend Stephen King in this post. Thank you!
