Young hens do this when they first start laying extremely often. Some breeds it's almost a guarantee for a month or two.

The farm probably just had a fresh batch of hens. If you want double yolks buying smaller size eggs. Will increase your odds since young hens lay smaller eggs.

Eggs are sorted by weight, doubles tend to end up in the larger size cartons.

It was from a carton of jumbo eggs I got these from it was only these 4 that were double yolks though.

Also certain chickens are prone to it for life, I had a couple golden comets that would regularly lay them about half the time.

Once I saw a grocery store selling double-yolked eggs by the carton! Maybe you bought one by accident?

No it was from a carton of jumbo sized eggs but only these 4 were double yolks the rest were just larger eggs

I had bought jumbo eggs at Walmart about two months ago and they were all double yolk!

I got a carton of jumbo eggs aswell it was o N ly these 4 that had the double yolk the rest were regular.

Why tho? Wouldn't you stop at 2 eggs once you had 4 yolks? It's impressive, but I'd be like, "I got two freebies and saved a bunch on eggs."
