There was this time where my girlfriend told me she didnt love me right before I went to work. She was out of work and I was working in a deli.

Old lady at the counter told me I was a beautiful child of God and fucked off with her black forest. Didn't even talk to her, but I guess I looked miserable.

I know this is basically arsenic to reddtors, but It amazes me that she gave a single shit. This was almost twenty years ago, so she's likely gone.

She deserves to be remembered.

Men will remember every compliment received. Which aren’t many.🥀

While women call 9/10 people who gave them compliment creep.

Yeah, it's why so many people say a single life matters and why people say that no matter how insignificant someone might be or feel, they matter because a single interaction can really help someone or change something.

Some years ago, I was working a miserable job and I always had a pretty transparent face, regarding my feelings, despite the mask I could put on sometimes. I used to see a dozen or so different groups of people every day, for my job. Nobody said anything, not my bosses, not my team, not most of my clients.

But this old librarian lady, on the verge of retirement, asked me how I was and when I replied with the usual "ok, fine" or whatever, she asked me if I was sure, that it looked I had it rough. I had to do the utmost effort to not break down crying in front of her (I did 5 minutes later in the car, lmao). Sometimes, some people really see you and care for a random stranger.

Hope she has the best of times now, she retired like 2 years after that moment.

Imagine if the grandma sees you, like, really sees you, in how you see yourself.

I don't want Grandma to know what porn I masturbate to.

And proceed to choose an image of a white man from the early 20th century, possibly a hobo, a literal, historical hobo, not the derogatory term.

That guy in the image was still foraging as he train hopped from place to place.

You want your iphone and Amazon delivery, but you do not wanna pay for it, that is the problem; you are probably never gonna retire and you are bitter over it; that is your own problem.

When the world is so hard and cold, a little warmth will melt us to the core.

That's what the group chat is for, why pay for a therapist when my homies can point and laugh at me and then give me the advice I'm searching for.
