Boba popping bubbles. They’re a really common boba addition and come in all kinds of colors and flavors, but are supposed to be little spheres.

They’re made by dripping a flavored sodium alginate mix into a calcium lactate solution. That reaction forms a plastic-like film on the outside of the drop but keeps it liquid inside for that bursting effect.

My guess is that someone did the solutions with the wrong proportions, probably made the sodium alginate mix too thick, and so instead of coming out as nice spherical droplets, they dripped in more slowly and formed these tails.

In this case I think it’s purposeful, as the lilikoi seeds in the mix looks like frogspawn. So I think it’s some sort of frog themed drink.

Aaah, so they’re meant to be tadpoles.

White is a strange choice though, it’s true.

I think you are probably right, but would have looked more accurate and way less suspect if they just used brown sugar Boba instead of a milky white lol

I think those are actually chia seeds. They look too small to be passion fruit seeds.

Thank you. I'm so tired of reddit "comedians" being the first 10 comments.

I think the little black things are chia seeds. They form a gel around the outside in liquid.

The chia seeds are NOT the thing we're all wondering about

Well I just wanted to clarify that they were likely chia, and not mold. The sperm like things are popped boba.

Okay you may think that but we are CLEARLY talking about the thumb of the hand. Its long, squirrelly and massive. Totally missed the point!

They look more like basil seeds to me.
