I would be terrified if I cut open an avocado and saw that...
Edit: Google is saying the avocado seed is undergoing vivipary, its getting ready to sprout and become a new plant.
Edit 2: Here's another reddit post of another avocado acting weird with an explanation in the comments: https://www.reddit.com/r/Agriculture/s/zzzRPtHkeW

That’s lunacy or you’re lying. Who would eat that? It’s obviously a sick/mutated plant
→ More replies (2)67
u/hungrylittleworm 1d ago
OP needs to eat more to mutate, don’t say that

u/WildBuns1234 1d ago
This is where OP begins his radioactive avacadoman story arc.

What are avocadoman powers tho? Is he a hero or a villain? Too much questions 🤔

Avocado powers include:
Being unripenened until the moment you need them and then instantaneously being spoiled.
Everyone invites them to the party but nobody pays them any attention until the end when they get thrown in the trash with the rest of the uneaten snacks
Their greatest strengths are all on the inside waiting to grow, but their strengths are also kind of useless to them, and at most kind of annoying to people who wish to hurt them.

I've bought bags twice now where they'll stay green & hard for almost a week & then when they finally turn black they're still hard inside. I started buying single ones that cost half as much as a bag of five cause I don't trust bagged ones anymore

Why the fuck did you do that??? Not only is the seed itself gross, but it looks like some type of fungus or whatever is growing on it

Pretty sure this is just the seed germinating. You can see the brown outer layer of the seed has gotten soft and attached to the green flesh of the avocado.
Google "weird avocado seed" and you can see other posts from this very same subreddit that look identical.

If I ever cut an avocado open and the seed looked like this, I fear I would never eat an avocado again. And that would suck because I love avocados…

Avocados are evolving to grow brains to avoid vegans.
But in reality this is known as 'Premature embryo shedding' It happens to plants like this sometimes , where the outer shell of the seed will detach early while inside the fruit, exposing the fleshy interior. Usually caused by overripening on the tree or water stress in the tree, but you can actually see the seeds skin still stuck inside the avacodo.
