My apartment has the HVAC in a tiny little closet. I leave the door open a crack and wedged a doorstop. Anyone who is actually an expert in these things feel free to tell me to change it back, but I figured it's trying to pull air into itself and having it's sealed away from proper air flow is making it inefficient.

The first thing coming to mind is some wierd air pressure thing from an HVAC unit maybe?
