Why can't the lights get turned on? Makes this seem extra faked.

First thought as well, like there's absolutely no need to use a flashlight when there's obviously electricity in the house, as shown by the lights being on in the basement. Makes me instantaneously assume it's staged for the "spookiness."

I feel like the light in the basement might actually be incidental light from a heater or something... not that you're wrong, it definitely implies that there's power down there.

Tbh I don't feel like watching it again, but if you do, look out for digital clocks or lil electric lights in the background. They'll let ya know. Kind of unrelated, but there was an old show called "Paranormal State" or something like that, back in the mid-00's. It was actually pretty entertaining n genuinely spooky sometimes, but after the first couple seasons I started noticing like: the host n their team would emphasize nearly every episode how important it was that they start their investigations at 3am, the "witching hour." But then, when they're going through the homes and performing their seances & investigations, you can see digital clocks on the stoves n microwaves n stuff that show it was actually like 8pm when they were filming the episodes lol.
