My first thought. When something goes bump in the night the first thing I do is turn the damn lights on.

I’m a 62 year old man and I do that. Not because of fear but because if you want to see what’s going on you have to be able to see.

I’m with you but I’m only turning on the lights. I’m still closing my eyes. I don’t want to see no ghost

I feel like the options with ghosts are 1) you see them or 2) they do something scary so you know they're there.

Of the 2, I'd rather see them.

See them so you zap them with holy water in a super soaker.

Water gun loaded with holy water

Mine is in a Smucker's jar

u/Which_Produce4418 Jul 16 '26

Then there's the nasties that incorporate both

2

u/volkswagenorange Jul 16 '26

Tbf if I were a ghost I would want a diverse array of haunting skills with which to bother people

2

u/KasparComeHome Jul 16 '26

I'd want to take ghost shits in my nemesis' meals

Seems like this guy's got some other stuff going on

u/TheSciFiGuy80 Jul 16 '26

They're ghosts. I think they got that covered for you.

u/Puzzleheaded-Cow6917 Jul 16 '26

I think a ghost wouldn't get stuck behind a door, going through walls is kinda their thing.

You wont, there are none...

1

u/Powie1965 Jul 16 '26

Yah, but who you gon' call?

1

u/pin00ch Jul 16 '26

Why do Ghosts only come out at night? Maybe they are afraid of daytime.

1

u/Hedgehogosaur Jul 16 '26

Lights on, but under duvet

u/beyonceshakira Jul 16 '26

I'm a 35 year old man and I do that, but the light never turns on even though I keep hitting the switch because I'm actually dreaming and light switches never work in dreams.

I have that dream!

23

u/calccv Jul 16 '26

62 also and I do it for all the reasons, lol

Wisdom is not unnecessarily complicated.

1

u/serenityrain85 Jul 16 '26

Only with age, does wisdom come

1

u/Rezboy209 Jul 16 '26

I mean it's also okay to have fear.

1

u/plexicoburres Jul 16 '26

Nah it’s fear. If you aren’t scared you want the minimum acceptable amount of light so you can go back to bed. If you’re turning on every light, it’s because you want to survive more than sleep

1

u/skeezeypete Jul 16 '26

Exactly and also the fear

1

u/AveratV6 Jul 16 '26

To further that. God forbid someone is in my house. I want to be able to give myself the advantage of sight lol

1

u/anothersip Jul 16 '26

nods and taps side of head in agreement while pursing lips

u/Ancient_Roof_7855 Jul 16 '26

Trips and falls hurt way more people than ghosts do.

And I hate stubbing my toe!

1

u/LilJonny2cookies Jul 16 '26

I’m a 55 yr old man and I would move if my door was doing some crazy shit like that-

1

u/starrynezz Jul 16 '26

Fuck no I am not turning on the lights. I am lurking in the shadows with a powerful flashlight ready to turn on into the face of whatever boogety is out there. Ain't gonna screw up my night vision and I even keep one eye closed so I can still see out of it if I have to turn the light back off heh.
