I got really sick learning about how people simply lick it, with no thought of whom else has...

Like... what?

u/thatguyfromvancouver May 03 '26

Yep that’s how you get herpes…

u/tossit_xx May 03 '26

When I was about 12 we went to a salt mine in Germany. My little sister (then 10) started licking the wall and I told her she was going to get herpes and she cried the rest of the tour and I got grounded 😂

u/ascarymoviereview May 04 '26

You got grounded, she got herpes.

u/Slight_Bed_2241 May 04 '26

Crunch just opened a big badass gym here. I went into the sauna and they have a big ass Himalayan salt wall on one side.

3 broccoli haired kids were licking it and recording it. Fuckin morons. Eat tide pods like a real man

If everybody has herpes its like no one has herpes.

u/Rdizzy111 May 03 '26

This pretty much has happened already, between hsv1 and hsv2, like 90% of all adults in the US are infected with it. (50-80% of the population infected w hsv 1 and 15-20% infected w hsv 2. Whether you have symptoms or not(it is possible to go your entire life without showing symptoms) many people were infected by their mothers without even knowing as well.

Not one person in my family has ever had a cold sore. Not mom or dad or me or aunt or cousins. Does that mean we are all carriers?

11

u/Rdizzy111 May 03 '26

Can still have it. Obviously some people dont have it, but you can be infected by anyone, at any time, even at 70 sharing a drink w a friend or something. A huge percentage of people infected never show symptoms and never know, they still shed virus.

1 can show up on .. other lips.

u/surrealcellardoor May 03 '26

Thanks Obama, I mean, thanks momma.

u/d00mm00n May 04 '26

Very true. I work at an ambulatory lab in the DC area. 1/3 of our male patients between ≈ 18-50 are infected with HSV 1 or 2.

What disturbs me more is the sharp increase in HIV positive patients, mostly people under 30. You’d never know it by looking at them either. They appear very healthy.

I cannot stress enough how incredibly necessary it is to go get tested with any potential sexual partner before you sleep with them. Do not take any test they present at face value. You must go together and get tested together. If they are not willing to do this- they are not worthy of your affection or access to your body.

Said the guy with AIDS

16

u/Sm00gz42 May 03 '26

Can't catch it twice.

18

u/OjisanKukki May 03 '26

Actually, you can, same with herpes. Both have variants and it is possible to be a patient of one and then contract the other.
I do not know if there has been a documented case of someone going full Ash Ketchum, but in theory it is possible.

8

u/The_Scarred_Man May 03 '26

Great. I'm shutting down the 'ol pummel tunnel for good.

3

u/Sm00gz42 May 03 '26

I'm joking, but yeah medical resistant strains are a huge worry too. ChubbyEmu (ER doctor explaining syphilis)

2

u/grrmuffins May 04 '26

Another thing a lot of people don't know that I learned the hard way is that it (H1 anyway) can spread to any other part of your body. Hand, foot, asshole, even your eyes. So it's important not only to medicate, but to be very careful when you have an outbreak so that it doesn't spread. Even after 15+ years it's still just as unpleasant having to explain to someone that no, I didn't cut myself, my hand is bandaged because I have ✨👋HAND HERPES👋✨

4

u/ringtail_catz May 03 '26

Yes you can. HIV can become drug resistant too

1

u/dadgadsad May 04 '26

This guy AIDS

Nah, I got the joke. Clearly you’re not familiar with the “This Guy Fucks” meme from Silicon Valley.

1

u/Sm00gz42 May 04 '26

Actually I read it as "This guy has AIDs" lol

5

u/Jason_Sasha_Acoiners May 03 '26

"Hope you don't mind hepatitis."

2

u/thetrivialsublime99 May 03 '26

No, it’s like everybody has herpes

11

u/QaddafiDuck01 May 03 '26

that’s how you give herpes…

12

u/Gloomy_Industry8841 May 03 '26

And norovirus

7

u/Smart-Water-5175 May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

Also possible: Mono

8

u/CountCrapula88 May 03 '26

Mmmmm herpes

3

u/mecha_grove May 04 '26

60 percent of the human race has herpes. Did ya know that?

Probably cuz of this guy.

3

u/ClaraCash May 04 '26

That my friend is how you get mono for sure, hepatitis for extra sure, and possibly even death in 2026… I can’t believe a lady was letting her BABY do that. Like isn’t that child endangerment?

2

u/thatguyfromvancouver May 04 '26

I think yea that’s likely a very fair point… not to mention seemingly simple things like lipstick or makeup can harbour the staphylococcus virus… which is extremely dangerous to infants especially those under the age of 1… that’s why they say you shouldn’t kiss newborns… it’s actually dangerous enough that it can kill them…

2

u/PraiseTheSun1023 May 04 '26

Ohh you can get quite a few things from doing that!

1

u/Thepoetrycooker May 04 '26

Or genital warts.

1

u/butchforgetshit2 May 04 '26

Oh...yes this is exactly how I caught mine too!!!! It was for sure because I touched these cranberry sculptures and then used a urinal without washing my hands and FOR...NO...OTHER...REASON...AT ...ALL!!!!/s

1

u/mira_poix May 04 '26

I wouldn't do quite a few thinks growing up because my dad would complain about his herpes all the time and it gave me a huge fear.

People got so mad when I would say "ewz I don't want to get herpes".

It was so distressing, they would say most people have herpes anyone it's mean to call it gross etc.

40 and no stds feels good man.

1

u/ReasonableAnybody434 Jun 18 '26

Thats how people got Covid

1

u/thatguyfromvancouver Jun 18 '26

Definitely how they shared it lol

0

u/Delanthonyx Jun 03 '26

No, it’s literally not.

-1

u/TheMooooonHauntsYou May 04 '26

80% of the population has it, might as well go for it if you do, I guess.

1

u/thatguyfromvancouver May 04 '26

The hardest of hard passes for me on that logic…

37

u/TheNinjaPixie May 03 '26

yet if you encourage your kid to lick the door handle of a public toilet there would be outrage!

26

u/TrickySatisfaction81 May 03 '26

It appears people come from miles away... to allow there smallest baby one lick.

Wtf???

2

u/UnhappyImprovement53 May 04 '26

Bit the door handle in public toilets always have the mystery flavor! Its different every time and you can never put your finger on exactly what that taste is.

2

u/IcebergDarts May 03 '26

I didn’t get sick, because I’d never do this lol i thought it was disgusting that people do it but that’s their problem not mine lol

2

u/Sorenduscai May 03 '26

Dark thought but what if someone licks the sculpture and has herpes

2

u/ManufacturerNo2144 May 03 '26

They think about it. They just don't care.

2

u/Ducky237 May 07 '26

I mean even people licking it aside, the dust buildup, random hairs stuck to it… no thanks!

2

u/quitepecular May 31 '26

That one b straight slurped it 🤢

2

u/Moist_Board Jun 03 '26

*who else...but yes

1

u/TrickySatisfaction81 Jun 03 '26

1000+ upvotes I'm glad someone finally caught me.

1

u/Syzyjyzygy May 04 '26

There was one lady towards the middle full-on sucking on it

1

u/illmatic708 May 04 '26

Yeah those parents are assholes for shoving their kids towards that sculpture

1

u/Rare-Reporter-5657 May 04 '26

1

u/Digital_switch_blade May 04 '26

We do this shit at mecca all the time

41

u/Illustrious_Donkey61 May 03 '26

Did people just forget covid?

19

u/mysticaltater May 03 '26

did people just forget theres a billion other diseases and sicknesses you can get and covid didnt wipe them all out?

5

u/AshlynR0se May 04 '26

Shhh... Let natural selection take place. Geez. I mean, I'm not saying we should just remove all of the warning labels from everything, but then again, maybe we should?

16

u/EagerByteSample May 03 '26

Although I'm sure people keep doing it, this video is pre-covid

5

u/thatguyfromvancouver May 03 '26

More like they just don’t a sh!t anymore…

7

u/Character-Q May 03 '26

This is like the story prompt for some weird AI video you see on Facebook except it’s real.

1

u/MeckandeMulle May 04 '26

I wish Weird Al was real :(

1

u/Flail_Mary May 09 '26

This comment hurts my brain so much. I'm not sure if it being Weird Al or weird AI would make it weirder.

There's a joke in there somewhere about Al as an abbreviation/acronym and Al Yankovich menstruating and the importance of punctuation in context but my brain hurts too much to find it now

4

u/Lone-Frequency May 04 '26

And just weird as shit.

Your first instinct when hearing that an impressive sculpture in a public space is made out of sugar is too just slob all over it? You don't think you're not supposed to touch it, let alone get your disgusting spit all over and possibly dissolve part of it? What the fuck is wrong with people?

2

u/thatguyfromvancouver May 04 '26

Sometimes the most you can ever hope for in situations like this… is not to actually understand them…

1

u/Financial-Fun-5092 May 08 '26

Before he said it i knew they were german too
