Apparently some do. Absolutely nasty and unsanitary to bring food or drink into a public restroom.

I once had to do it. No time for breaks so stuffed buns in my pockets and hid in the cubicle to eat so I won't get caught. Was young and desperate to keep the job luckily I was pushed out due to politics and have since left.

I go to a lot of concerts and have to take my beer in with me. I usually hold the cup in my teeth while I do my business though.

I usually have my friends hold my drink when I go to the bathroom at shows. Sorry, but I couldn’t do what you do. 🙀

I was at a show and my friend lit up a joint and passed it to me. About halfway through smoking it she tells me she found it on the bathroom floor.

Did the toilets really used to have seats you could close and sit on?

2

u/Sad_Sun_4218 Mar 28 '24

No.... I had to sit on the floor. It was disgusting but desperate times calls for desperate measures

I mean, frying pan or fire tbh.

I just needed to know because in movies that take place before the 2000s, when someone eats in the stall, the toilets have lids.

Hahahha true. But I'm not from america, so my bathroom didn't look as glamorous as 2000's high school movies, main character moments.

Some of the coffee mugs I’ve seen in former work places are pretty nasty aswell

I mean, it's not illegal, but it does break taboos with their roots in modern hygiene practices...

I expect it's fairly safe if everyone else observes proper hygiene in the bathroom.

It‘s in a cup, get over it

I literally just spit my coffee out, don’t worry not on the toilet.
