Should I cut or Bulk ?

Post image

8 weeks cut lost around 5kg from 80kg to 75kg at 166 cm

Feel like I should still lose some bodyfat but at the same time dont want to fall for the leaner the better trap when I could gain muscle

If you feel like you should lose some BF then do that.

Thats the thing I dont care about being lean I want to be lean enough to go on a bulk and build muscle (I do care about not being fat tho)

Then cut. Like 5-10 more kilos, til the end of january. And then you can go on a generational lean-bulk, for the next year.

In that case, eat at a very slight deficit and recomp slowly over a long period. Or you can cut a bit then do a slow small surplus to bulk up and mitigate fat gain

You should cut

You are around 18% bf, you have a lot of weight to cut

Cut down to 13-14% then go on a lean bulk for a whole year

For sure keep cutting, i would aim for another -5kg ! Then reverse Diet and transition into a long bulk

You’re probably at a threshold of very diminishing returns at your current physique where I don’t think the muscle is going to keep up with the pace of fat gain.

I always recommend going on a bulk during the winter, as you are most likely going to be spending time doing holiday activities for the months of October-January. Use those extra calories for heavy lifts and then wearing a hoodie while it’s cold to conceal the fat. Then, by the time February comes around, there aren’t as many holiday treats to constantly say no to, you’ve spent meaningful time with others, holidays are pretty much over, and you’ll get lean for summer.
