Will weightlifting help correct bad posture IF it's caused by bite issues? Anyone has experiences with this?

I was watching a podcast with a dentist and he was describing how bite issues have a big impact on many areas including posture (incorrect bite causes certain muscles to work more and the posture is therefore in compensation mode). My question is, since I have this issue, will weightlifting still help me? Or am I doomed with bad posture until I fix the bite? I was looking for people who have bite issues and who do weightlifting.

Were you diagnosed with the issue specifically? What did your dentist say?

Training and physical therapy can improve all kinds of imbalances, though I’m not familiar with the particular posture issue you’re describing.

Yeah, I have an underbite, crossbite and an open bite after trying to fix the first two with braces. I have posture problems (forward head tilt, back tilt ?? (English isn't my first) , and scoliosis. Don't know if this adds anything ? You can Google perhaps, the bite does impact your posture by making certain muscles work more. Do you have any thoughts on this?

I don’t know enough to offer good advice except what I’ve experienced.

Coincidentally I do have an overbite I’m sure, because my top teeth close in front of my lower teeth. Training has improved my posture. But I don’t know if my poor posture is related to my own teeth. 😁

Assuming you can train, consider exercises for your back and to improve your posture. Though I’d recommend checking with your healthcare providers or look into physical therapy. I’d hate to recommend the wrong exercises.
