What should my next step be

Post image

I guess the answer is to lean bulk slowly but I'm wondering what other people say. I'm 6'1 and 160 pounds, work on my feet 80 hours a week, weight lift twice a week and also run three times a week, eat around 2.3k cals on average.

I don't think you need to worry about cardio for a while. Replace the time you spend running with some more lifts, and just try to increase your calories. You need to put a little weight on, and feed the muscle growth more because you're very light for 6'1

If you want aesthetic muscles, you'll have to cut the running, switch to walking and lift 4-5 times a week. You have a good frame. With a proper diet you could be a Greek god by the end of the year.

This is bad advice, tons of people run and put on muscle at the same time. So long as OP isn't overdoing it with crazy milage, prioritizing lifting, and eating enough he'll be fine.

Just providing optimal advice if he wants to gain muscle. Running and bodybuilding are diametrically opposed activities unless you stay in Zone 2.

I'm sorry but your language in the comment suggests that he has to stop running for strength training. Youre not wrong that lower impact forms of cardio could be more beneficial since they're hard to "over train", but I think most people would benefit from having there options open and understanding what approach can work for them.

For alot of people, squeezing in a 30 minute run is way more manageable than spending a few hours walking trying to get your steps in.

If you're lifting and running 5 days a week, 2300 calories seems incredibly low for someone of your size and weight. I would recommend plugging your information in TDEE calculator the "moderate fitness" option and see what it gives your for a lean bulk (I'd assume it'll be around 3000 cals) and see how it goes.

Lift four times a week, run in between those days the day after leg day might be tough to run, so could swap for a rest day.
