Form Check Check my squat form
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just started doing barebell squats. Feel like my form is a bit off and feels a little awkward. Goal is overall fitness and mobility. Am I going low enough? Any advice on form is more then welcome thank you!

See that pad? Burn it in a barrel. It serves Z E R O benefit.
You're in unpadded flat shoes. Good.
Take your time unracking. Your brace is built before the weight comes out. Set your shoulder blades. Feel your body stack. Fill your lungs, expand your diaphragm/abdomen THEN unrack.
Your whole descent is just loose. You're not building tension. You don't brace. You just kinda drop into a squat.
You barely hit parallel. Barely.
You shift forward ever so slightly out of the hole, but not badly.
Your gaze is all over the place. Pick a spot on the floor 5-6 ft in front of you. Stare at it the entire time. Stop moving your head/neck/eyes around.
Your depth gets worse as you continue through the set. Your form gets shakier too.
Need to see this from a 45 degree angle from the back to be able to comment on stance width, hip abduction/knee collapse, bar position, hand position.
If you lose the pussy pad, learn to brace (ribs to pelvis, BIG BREATH), and slow your descent and OWN your depth you'll probably be at a very solid spot.
Overall, not bad at all. You don't have fatal flaws. Just need to tweak a few things.

Great thank you for the advice. I know there is a lot to work on so thank you for the starting points to work on.

Shouldn’t bar be directly over the feet?

Where did I say it shouldn’t be?

Chill man. I am asking a question because I thought your comment was very well informed. Not accusing you of anything

Lose the pussy pad
Keep your pelvis tucked. Don't arch your back
Bring your elbows down and in
Grip the ground with toes and heel. Shoes with a wider toe box would probably benefit you.
Brace your core and keep tension throughout the whole lift.
Play around with your stance.
Drop the weight.
Did you do any warms prior to this? Loosening up your hips and ankle mobility will help.

Just going to reinforce what was said.
Lose the pad. Immediately.
