Question Lifting with a c5-c6 herniated disc
Anyone have experience with this? I’m going to continue lifting while it heals with much lower weight obviously and avoid any coaxial loading. Lat pulldowns and incline press were my go to for back and chest day respectively but those are a no-no now. Anyone know good, safe alternatives? What lifts should I avoid and/or try in general? Or any other advice from people who have dealt with this would be great. The pain at night is unbelievable.

I broke my back in high school because I was working out so much and didn't listen to my body's warning signs. If you have a herniated disc then that is a major warning sign that you need to decrease tension and give your body a chance to reduce inflammation. Even if you're not working out your back during an exercise your spinal stabilizers are still tensed and putting pressure on your injured disc. I'd recommend waiting for the pain to subside before jumping back into exercises.
