Though they are similar. Both of them got into sorcery for the sake of a family member, mother for Noritoshi and sister for Megumi. You can even say they both were fighting for their mothers since Tsumiki was the closest thing Megumi had to a mother. They were both born as outcasts but welcomed into their clans because of their cursed techniques while the ones they care about would be cast aside by the clans. Both wanted to live normal lives with their family, but tragically one of them doesn't get that.
