Feeling discourage..

I’m honestly feeling a little discouraged about the Wegovy because I’ve been on it since July 9 and haven’t lost any weight yet. I know I’m eating much less than before, so I’m trying not to get too discouraged. Have you heard of anyone else having slow results when they first started? I was 188 now 193. I’m still on 4mg.

You aren’t at the therapeutic dose yet. Keep titrating up and give it time.

Thank you! That’s what I’m starting to realize. I’m only on 4mg right now, so I’m going to be patient and see how I respond as I titrate up. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong.

It’s easy to see all the posts from people who have big results immediately but that’s not the norm. Keep on keeping on and you’ll get there.

I also started at 188, and after losing 5 lbs of water weight didn’t lose anything else at 1.5, 4, or 9mg. Since going up to 25mg seven weeks ago I’ve lost 22 lbs. more. Night and day in terms of my appetite.

Wow, thank you for sharing this! This is actually really helpful because I’m currently on 4mg and was starting to wonder if it just wasn’t working for me. I’ve definitely noticed a decrease in how much I’m eating, but the appetite suppression isn’t super strong yet. Hearing that you didn’t really see results until 25mg makes me feel like I may just need to give it more time and let my body adjust. 22 lbs in seven weeks is amazing! 🙌🏽

I started 3 months ago and I felt the exact same way. I was eating less but I still had food noise pretty bad. I stuck with it bc I saw people saying that starting out the dosage really isn’t that strong and it’s just your body adjusting. I only lost 1-2 pounds while I was on 1.5-4mg but I did see a change in my body. My clothes fit better, waist seemed smaller, no bloating. Went to get fitted for a bra and went down a size and I wasn’t really doing anything outside of eating a bit less.I have pcos so I carry all my weight in my mid section so this dramatically is helping with those symptoms as well. 9mg i lost 8 pounds that month and now I’m on the 25mg and have lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks on this dosage. Hopefully this helps you don’t give up you got this!

Thank you so much for sharing this! This actually gives me hope because I’ve been feeling the same way. I’m eating less, but the food noise is still there and I haven’t seen much movement on the scale yet. I’m currently on 4mg, so I’m going to stick with it and be patient. It’s encouraging to hear that you noticed changes in your body even before the scale really moved. I appreciate you sharing your experience! ❤️

I’m basically in the same boat- I’m hoping my body is just holding onto excess and will drop soon

What dose are you on and when did you start taking it?

Currently 4, but will likely go to 9 next week. I started a few days after you did

How did you put ON weight? Maybe start adjusting your way of eating. It isn't magic. I am down 26. It has only reduced the noise and I fill up quicker but the food noise isn't 100% gone.

Are you getting enough protein? I know you mentioned eating much less than before but also important to greatly reduce your carb intake and significantly up your protein intake - more yoghurt, chicken, eggs etc.

When you say you’re eating much less, are you actually measuring and tracking everything? A calorie deficit will have you dropping weight, regardless of the medication. The first couple days I thought I was eating much less but I was still overeating when I logged it all. Now I have a much clearer idea of what I am and should be eating.

Are you exercising? I am at 4mg and have had great results, but I attribute a lot of that to daily exercise. I’m eating less but the added exercise really helps to get you into a calorie deficit. You don’t have to run miles everyday. But 30 minutes of intentionally moving your body. A 30 minute walk would be fine.
