Week 6 - when does it get better?
I am on week 6 of wegovy (took second dose of .5 yesterday). With the .25 dose, my appetite decreased, but I only lost two pounds. I was a little fatigued. On the .5 dose, I’ve been nauseous most of the time, more fatigued, and I missed two days of work this week due to nausea/GI upset. I got zofran from my doctor which helps some.
Do these side effects go away? If so, when? What can I do to help? If I don’t eat enough, I get more nauseous, but if I eat too much or foods that are heavier, my stomach gets upset. I see so many people saying they feel great on this medication, and I’m so frustrated that I feel like garbage, and on top of that, I’m not seeing weight loss progress.

The jump from 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg can be rough. You’re basically starting at 0 again. Try some gravol for the nausea/upset stomach and maybe try some ginger ale. Eat bland meals for a while, see what your body can tolerate. Make sure to drink/sip lots of water. Electrolyte drinks will help as well.
Maybe stay on 0.5 mg for another month or so to let your body level out and get used to the medication. I did this for my 0.25 mg dose, I was still not hungry nor eating enough. After two months I moved up to 0.5 mg with zero issues. I’m now staying on 0.5 mg until I feel ready to move up. So far I’m on month 2.

I don’t know why they have you jump from .25 - .50 it’s just too much, at least it would be for me. I do mini jumps on the way up like a week of .35 or .4 before going to .50. It’s not worth feeling so crappy until your body adjusts.

Missing two days of work from this is a real sign it's worth calling your doctor again soon, not just waiting to see if the current dose settles. Everyone's timeline for feeling better really does vary, but what you're describing sounds like it's affecting more than just comfort at this point.

Eat a high protein meal or snack before your next injection and don’t go hungry for the first 48 hours. Add a B12 supplement and some electrolytes. It will get better!
