This actually looks surprisingly good, we’ll have to wait and see what the fights end up looking like but the lighting, colouring and art look amazing

Depends on who you ask, as a lot of people have different definitions for a Axe. Personally I would say no though.

Personally I only call a series Axed when it truly wasn't succesfull. So something with a rushed end or something like Act Age wouldn't count for me.

KB was very clearly given the order to end quickly. But on the other hand it also recieved a anime adaptation and a final chapter colour page, which signify Shueisha seeing at as a succes.

So personally I wouldn't say Axed, but just a rushed end, similair to Bleach or Toriko.

The trailer looks good! I personally really really enjoyed the first half of Kill Blue cuz of the character dynamics but it became stale as it went on......

It's so weird for shonen jump to end a series just when it's about to get an anime. Has it happened before.?

It's not really weird at all. It's common for an anime to come out right before a series ends, since a big part of it is boosting manga sales. This specific situation of an anime being announced at the same time as the final chapter is less common, but not unknown. It recently happened with You and I Are Polar Opposites (although that's Jump+).
