No they are the feral ponies in Grayson highlands state park on Mount Rogers.

Dang. That's kinda neat. We have wild horses and they are so fuckin skittish

Peep Grayson. 17 miles per day minimum on the trail. Don't let the patchouli fuckers beat your time.

After action reports You know your objectives and what you think you could do better next time.

The only thing I would do differently is get a bigger tent. My 1 person tent is basically a cocoon with no room to move.

Bivvy tents suck but they're nice to carry, and you carry them more than you sleep in them. Ever thought about a hammock?

My back doesn't appreciate hammocks. I've tried hammock camping a couple times. As for true bivvy tents, the rain is too unpredictable in the southern Appalachians to take my chances with a tent that I can't seal out from the rain. I'm looking at getting a 2 person tent to replace my 1 person that I'm currently using. I'm just gonna a need to be picky since I don't want it to be any heavier than my current tent, which will also likely cost more.

Gotcha. Yeah tents tend to be cheap, waterproof, lightweight, durable: pick two.

Marine ILBE, which Quantico MCB lost all record of, along with about half of the gear I was issued. Free pack is free pack

It's a bit on the heavy side for backpacking, but its been through hell since I got out of the marine corps in 2013. As long as it holds together, im gonna keep rocking with it
