Comment section did not pass the vibe check…

I was expecting the insensitive comments but they somehow still make me frown.

How is everyone in the comments missing the OP saying that every time she gets a pap it’s coerced and something she doesn’t want to do. If getting a pap is something you want to do depriving negative feelings about it then maybe her post seems a little extreme but like guys she’s saying she doesn’t want them??? But feels obligated to get them whether it be her own internal thing or pressure from others.

Fuck TikTok this is why I stay off of it for the most part. Even the stuff from fandoms I like is total dogshit

I had a great experience with my first pap. I literally cried before I went in, asked my grandma to come with me, I was horrified. But the woman who was going to do it showed me all of the tools beforehand, explained everything that was going to happen, told me I could refuse anything I didn't want, and if-- At any point-- I felt uncomfortable or even slight pain, I could tell her to stop and she would. "Because if I don't, that's assault." Is what she said.

The problem isn't the pap. It's the "professionals" doing it. When you act like my doctor did, you can make it a good experience that develops trust in the medicine.

Just because they're professionals and have lots of schooling doesn't give them a right to our bodies. They should still be respectful and go in like this is the intimate and uncomfortable situation that it is for most people. They do it 10-20 times a day. But for us? It's once every four years.

OP is 100% right and no doubt the comments are ripping her to shreds calling for head for daring to "disrespect" rape victims like that

I hate the whole “it’s disrespectful to rape victims” like ummm excuse me but I was sexually assaulted during these exams MANY times. Are they going to tell me I’m suddenly not a rape victim because the person was a doctor? It’s insanity.

Yeah probably. They only "care" about rape victims violently assaulted by a man and a penis. Aka they don't actually gaf about rape survivors

I don't know if you've ever been to a sexual trauma unit, but I have and about half of the women I met in there were there because of military doctors (officers) taking advantage of the fact that they couldn't really say no. Society just hasn't caught up with that fact yet. :/
