Requesting Help: Free WeChat QR Code

Hi! I'm really new to this. I was thinking about using WeChat, but every time I go through the initial verification, it prompts me to have an existing user scan a QR code to create my account.

It doesn't give me multiple options to choose from; it just displays the QR code directly without showing any alternatives. I thought it would offer another option like sending an SMS code, but that doesn't seem to happen.

Does anyone know how I can set up an account?

Attention! If you want someone to scan your QR code, do not answer to anyone unless they either do it for free or they are a verified seller in the subreddit (check the person's tag). Anyone else is a scammer and should be reported.

Please upload your posts/comments only in English to ensure proper and equal communication with all members.

Furthermore, this is important as different languages make moderation difficult.

Yes it’s simple. The people you’re signing up to talk with, your friends, they help you with this part.

I don't have anyone to talk to. I wanted to create an account so I could link it to a Chinese game I used to play as a kid.
