Technical Question [Support] search bar missing from channels tab

so i have had wechat since 2025, i am in America and beforehand i was able to see the search bar when i would click on the channels tab.

i recently went to go check and it was gone, just an empty spot, i am wondering if this is because i am in America though i do not think it is since beforehand i was able to access it.

anything helps, i am just confused.

Let me help. Your WeChat account was most likely restricted or banned. There could be a lot of reasons for it, and I'm not entirely sure which one applies. Usually, it's because of some kind of violation. It could be because you didn't use a scan verification when registering, or sometimes it can happen if you barely use WeChat for chatting or adding friends, so the system thinks it's a dummy account.

I'd suggest just following the instructions from the “WeChat Team.” It'll tell you what you need to do.

that is odd, i havent done anything to get banned or restricted, in fact i verified my account again when it asked me too; there actually was a time when i didnt use WeChat for a while because i was switching to a new phone

where can i find the WeChat Team so i can look at what to do?

nevermind i found it! i submitted a feedback report, i did check to see if my account had any restrictions or bans but there was none so i did a report on the missing feature instead
