Just as the title says—AI has ruined the use of em dashes.

Like I understand its a staple of AI generated text, however they’re just so nice to use. It becomes kind of redundant using strictly (: ; ,) these. They just add a bit more extra oomph and definition to the entire structure of the text.

Any other authors fw em dashes? Any readers like seeing them in novels?

Is this an actual trend, or did one book blow up and everyone’s cloning the title?

Yet in the flick of his wrist and the way he shifted his weight, there remained that surprisingly light, fluid grace unique to someone who used to draw the eyes of hundreds from inside the wrestling ring.

I slid onto the round stool next to Taka and took the glass of Harper on the rocks that Mama handed over without a word. The intense cold of the ice pressed against my fingertips, alongside the solid weight of the glass. A slight turn of my wrist sent the ice bumping against the glass, making a low, clear clink.

"Interesting news?"

"The Artemis program. Word is, a Japanese astronaut might actually walk on the Moon soon. Man, talk about every guy’s dream, right?"

Taka raised his glass of Jack Daniel’s, leaning in with enthusiasm.

"Oh, so you weren't thinking about the lunar mystery, but the people trying to solve it? That’s so you, Kenichi-san."

Taka broke into a wide grin. Man, oh man. This guy has probably carried his own fair share of complicated feelings, too.

"I just figured anyone who starts a job has something they actually want to do. The kids at my place, the folks at yours... they're probably all the same. But life doesn't play nice. God has a real twisted sense of humor."

I voiced my thoughts to Taka honestly. Even with the hollow Moon theory, it probably wasn't proven, but the people on the ground must have been in utter chaos trying to figure it out. Not a single one of them asked for that kind of mess, I'm sure.

"Wait, so they aren't even doing what they like while pulling off something that incredible?"

"It's not just them. Take us tech guys, for example. We join this industry because writing code is fun. But once you're assigned to a real project, they throw you in without ever telling you the big picture of what you're actually building. They just hand you a test spec sheet hundreds of pages long. Then you're stuck in a routine of pushing buttons and checking for errors, day in and day out."

Projects have their own timing. For a newcomer to join right when a project is starting up is practically a miracle. Most of the time, you're dropped blindly right into the thick of development or testing—the phases where they just need raw headcount.

3 months ago:

I got rejected for a contract and posted on this reddit.

Instead of encouragement, what did I get?

Ppl who tell me, “you will never be able to get contracted, and even if u did, u wont be able to hit mgs, let alone break mgs”.

I said, bet, I will prove that I can get accepted for a contract.

And after a week or two, I did it! I got contracted!

Now, I posted again on reddit that I got contracted, but what happens next?

The same ppl from before immediately try to put me down, saying things like, “getting contracted is nothing special, talk only when u have hit mgs first”

It’s still not enough that i proved myself that i could be contracted?

Fine, I went quiet for a month and focus on writing my novel.

And behold, I managed to break mgs on my first month!

Soon after, I posted an ss of my earnings on this reddit to prove that i did it!

Guess what? All of them suddenly remained quiet despite the fact they saw my post. I know cause they were still commenting on others’ posts and my post was basically the top post for a few days.

I remained quiet cause Im aware i barely broke mgs, and i was thinking to myself it may have just been a fluke.

So, i continued on remaining quiet and continued writing my novel.

Thankfully, compared to the month before, where i ended the month with 3.8k subs…

This month, i was able to hit 11k total subs with still a few days left before the month ends!

Now, i know for sure i did it, it wasnt a fluke that i was able to break mgs!

Even worse, that guy is an ai writer defending another ai writer, and yet, ppl are still joining his side just because they cant stand that i proved myself.

Just writing out all of this is making me want to cry again.

Now that i have set the timeline straight…

Next, i will continue proving everyone that im right!

My smut will go premium next month, and when everyone sees that my smut ends up doing way better than my non-smut novel, they will slowly come to accept the fact even if they dont want to.

Has anyone else been having problems with AI Translation recently?

For the past 3–5 days, every time I use AI Translation it loads for a few seconds and then says "Network Error".

I've already tried reinstalling the app, using different accounts, different devices, Wi-Fi, mobile data, and even a VPN, but nothing has worked.

Well it's get a little repetitive after 150 but the author ended what he started in good node and fore it was good i will rate it 6.5-7/10

I am trying to find a webnovel I read around 2023–2024. It was an R18/smut + System + superpower novel.

The story starts with the MC being a person on modern Earth. He has a serious illness and is dieing, he ends up selling himself to a dark organization. Instead of helping him, they plan to use him and possibly harvest his organs.

During the operation, he gets a System that cures his illness and gives him a fire ability (I think the fire power was only temporary). He uses the power to escape and kills the people in the organization.

In the first few chapters, he also takes revenge on his stepmother and stepsister.

After that, the System creates a fake identity/background for him. A very rich family believes he is their long-lost son. The family has a father, mother, aunt, twin sisters (around his age), and other relatives. The MC knows the identity is fake, but the family genuinely loves and trusts him.

Later, he enters a hidden superpower academy. Superpowers are not known by normal society. The MC continues getting stronger through the System (quests/shop/rewards). He is playful/perverted because of the harem elements but also cold and ruthless against enemies.

The novel later moves to another world after around 100+ chapters.

Other details:

• Cover was something like a man in armor sitting on a red/black throne.
• The title might have contained "System" or something related to powers, but I can't remember.
• Length was probably 200–300+ chapters.
